Hi Carly.. I appreciate you taking the time to leave a review. If my memory is accurate and I believe it is, your car left here without payment in full, and was awarded a 1st place trophy at the Shoreline car show. I would say that more then qualifies our work to be anything but "poor"... After requesting payment several times we had no choice but to go to court and were awarded a judgment for the amount owed to us. I am happy to resolve any issues you have with us upon payment of the judgement that the court awarded us. I find it interesting and convenient, that this negative review has only recently come up upon us sending your account to collection 10 years after the work had been done. As far as the timeline issue classic restorations are a labor of love, and your car was sent out to a sub contractor of your choice to complete the electrical issues causing further delay in the completion of the job. Again I am happy to resolve any alleged issues you may have. There are several photos on your personal facebook account regarding this car when you state that we rock and give us special thanks for an amazing job... This owner "Moe" will quote you one price then then has a higher total when you go to pick up your car. He kept my car many months longer than when he said when it would be ready. Save yourself a lot of troble and avoid this shop. I had to go to court over the charges and poor quality of work.

Sarah, while we do apologize that you feel you have been treated so unfairly, this is a gross exaggeration of the events that lead to this review. It is not uncommon in industries such as ours for services and repairs to take longer than anticipated. You paid for 6 cushions to be upholstered and brought in 7, this extended the length of time to complete the work. You also did not inform anyone at our shop that you had to have the job completed by a specific date, only that you would be out of town while the work was being done. Much like your business, our shop hours are public information. We are not open on the weekends, much like your office is not open on Mondays & Tuesdays, we had to extend the extra work you did not pay for into Monday. As far as the allegations of nonconsensually touching you, you may remember that I complimented your tattoos and asked if I could take a closer look, to which you stuck your arm out. I apologize that I miss-took this as content and would not have if you had shown any signs of even pulling your arm back when I touched you. I was not gendering or attempting to insult you by saying girl, it was an unfortunate exasperation. I did attempt to explain that, before Kelsey said anything, but you and the person you were with would not let me speak. You refused my offers to leave my shop and install the cushions for you right then, so that you would be able to see clients that afternoon, because I was unwilling to refund you any money on a job that was underbid due to inaccurate information given by you that we let slide, as we aim for high customer satisfaction. I am not making excuses for my swearing or my obvious frustration, I am simply stating that you are exaggerating the circumstances of our exchange.

AVOID THIS PLACE! I was personally referred to this business to have 7 small wood backed pieces reupholstered. I am a chiropractor and have a small clinic with only one table. It was agreed to by Moe and Kelsey that my pieces would be complete within 7 days so that I could install and return to work. I paid in full, up front. By the 8th day there was no communication and my family had to drive in because we couldnt get a call or email back (I was out of town) and I was told that the pieces are completely dissassembled and wouldnt be finished until Monday. I wouldnt be able to work. On Monday, Moe finally called to let me know the pieces would be finished around noon. He wouldnt discuss any monetary remedy and dismissed the fact that I had cancelled my day! When I arrived, I spoke with Kelsey and she took the blame. (As a side note, Moe had been present and I had spoken to him when I arrived to drop the cushions off. I remember him because he non-consentually grabbed my arm that had visible tattoos on it, which was incredibly uncomfortable and creepy to me, while jokingly telling me that he should have raised the initial quote because it had been a few months since we had emailed, so Moe was very much aware of the order and Kelsey was just taking the heat). She told me that they had actually already given me a discount and that the cushions looked perfect. Moe inserted himself in the conversation and immediately became reactive. Moe rapidly escalated to near hysterics, began stomping around and carrying my cushions out the door and placed them near the door while I stood in amazement at the counter. He repeatedly shouted f*ck multiple times in varying sentences. He degraded me and my practice. I was questioned as to why I only have one table in my office. I was told that theres no way that I see the number of patients that I stated that I had to reschedule in a day (which is 20-25 and not unusual when you work an 8:30-7pm day!). I was accused twice of trying to manipulate money out of them. I was in shock at this point and shaking but still hanging in there. Moe repeatedly screamed at me demanding to know what I wanted so that I would leave? I had been, and was still remaining calm, even though he had been hysterically stampeding around the front office and in out of the back room for 20 minutes, completely unable to control his emotions. I calmly said I would like a $200.00 refund (which is far less then my financial and time loss). He said f*ck no and that that would be all of his profit loss. He then said GIRL... (kind of like when you hear people say girl, youre out of your mind) and thats when I stopped him. I calmly told him Im not a girl (my gender identity does not matter to this. If I did factor in my gender identity, it would make his next comment hateful and discriminatory but Im going to give the benefit of the doubt and not go there). The fact is first his comment was infantilizing as Im 40 years old and second its patronizing and unprofessional). Moe then stated I dont care WHAT you are. I dont know your gender (othering and discrimination based upon my appearance!) But he did apologize for calling me girl, probably because Kelsey told him to stop and that he didnt want to go there because I think she knew his comment was high key discrimination). At that point, I shut down and decided to leave as I felt unsafe and decided that it was best that I leave. I walked out and was loading my pieces in the car when Kelsey came running out. She apologized again. At this point, there is nothing that can be done to remedy what happened to me at this business. I stated my needs and paid my bill. I was taken advantage of and then verbally assaulted. Moe used gaslighting, verbal intimidation and physical intimidation and then tried to turn everything around on myself and business partner. I URGE you to take your business elsewhere. There is zero excuse for the way that I was treated today and no one should ever have to go through that.

If they can't order a part then they will fabricate it. Master classic car restorers. Nothing short of brilliant. They also sell a lot of fabric and padding, etc...if you want to DYI your project.

My husband and has made two trips to Rich's custom upholstery looking for seats for our rock buggy. When he went in the first time the owner was out and the girl working the front desk was absolutely no help at all she has NO knowledge of the business and could not answer any of his questions. The workers in back are no better. I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone!
