Alycia, we appreciate you taking the time to post this review. I apologize for your unfortunate experience at the office. We strive to make everyone feel comfortable and give the best exam possible. In any medical office, it is important to not only give patients a thorough exam, but to do this efficiently. On order to do this, we employ the highest technology available. I checked the date of your exam and this was the busiest day in the office we ever had. We do not plan to be this busy, but with back to school, so many unscheduled emergency patients, and some unfortunate circumstances that lead to us being short staffed, we became backed up and got behind. We try to be efficient, but I never let a patient leave without asking if all questions were answered. Again, very sorry for your experience. We will do our best to make sure this doesn't happen again. I hope we get the chance to make it up to you next year!

This is the first time I have every genuinely felt uncomfortable at the doctors. I felt as I he looked at me differently, didn't answer any questions I had, rushed through my exam, and pushed me out the door. Probably will not be returning.

It was my first trip to an optometrist it a very long time. I am a type 2 diabetic and needed an exam. I was taken aback by the fact that I was charged 130 for the visit. I knew there was a co pay, but I didnt know that some if the examination wouldnt be covered by insurance. It would have been nice to know going in, but I am also aware that it is MY responsibility to understand my policy. The problem is that I dont have a law degree, so therefore my interpretation of the legalese leaves something to be desired.

Sorry to hear you had issues with your insurance. Insurance companies are certainly in the business of making money - not making sense. Please call the office at 804-595-2020 ext 4 and speak to our billing specialist. We can set up a 3-way call with your insurance(s) to see what happened.

I have been to Dr Parker for several years now , all has been fine till this last visit. I had to pay $ 203 out of pocket when I have insurance. I still dont completely understand why and something I am still working on with my insurance. My dissatisfaction with Dr. Parkers office is that they did all these tests and then expected me to pay out of pocket right then. I was floored, it took everything not to cry right there. Why have insurance and so much for preventative care. But I cant believe they do not have a better system to say this is what your insurance pays for , this is your costs .. something. Im not sure I want to go back here if they cant fairly tell me my responsibility . Missie Hite
