Old feeling shop. Tons of instruments but it was frowned upon to play them. I went a few years ago and it scares me to go back. Service is decent but I felt like I was more of a burden than a customer.
Would like to say the place was great but was disappointing. We walked in and there was a lady at the desk and there was stuff everywhere all over her desk and she acted as if it was a nuisance that we were there in the first place. So she yelled across the store for some guy and he came to come help us. He went looking in the back for an item came out with two items that were severely overpriced for the conditions they were in. So we just decided we would go elsewhere. The store looked well and other areas. But customer service does go a long way.
Hi Leannade, I am really sorry that you have had a bad experience with us. From the dates of Jan 19 - 22. the main staff for us here at Bill Harris Music, was at the NAMM show convention purchasing and bringing in new product for this year. So we were remaining open with the assistance of my retired grandmother who, yes has some faults but offers to help us this time of year, ( she normally is busy at home with her decorations ). As for the mess and your overall experience with the store, it normally is not like that, and we can prove it. I would personally love to have you come in and talk with me and I know we will prove you wrong. I had previously reviewed Bill Harris with one star because it legitimately was the worst experience I'd ever had at a music store. (The old lady is really mean, but she's not always there) The owner had responded to my review, so I decided to go back in yesterday anonymously to give it another chance. I walked in at 5 minutes to close, and I was surprised that they let me walk around and browse the piano music. Not sure if the guy that was working was the owner or not, but it was BY FAR a better experience than the last time. He showed me to the piano music and was overall really pleasant to work with. Not sure if this was a fluke, or if they really have improved as a company, but I will be going back in the future.
I had a great time at the store. Bill was very patient with my questions and he helped find a good guitar and a screaming deal on a used guitar case! Seriously this place has everything and they let you play and try anything before you buy it.
Their son is quite sociable and helpful. I've had good and bad experiences with the old couple. But their prices have increased (probably due to unhappy/infrequent customers), and stuff is scattered everywhere.
