Jenn Piroth did bring a violin to me to work on in Jan 2021, and it MUST be stated that this was during the worst part of the very serious "supply chain issue" time period. We ordered the parts within a few days after she brought it in. they did not arrive here until Mid May. which we then scheduled the violin to be worked on. but about a day later Jenn Piroth spoke with my assistant Phil Medley, who advised her to come pickup her violin. which she did later that day. she was not charged anything, and no work was done to her violin other than our initial inspection in January.. and we retained all the parts we ordered. end of that part of the story. I did not find this out until just recently. the day of the "phone call with the violin teacher", I was out on an errand and had left my phone in the shop with Phil, who tells me that a friend/customer who I know well to be a prankster, answered my phone and spoke with the "violin teacher" and apparently was being a smart a** and giving her a general hard time. Especially once he discovered that she was NOT the owner of an instrument in our shop. Our shop doesn't speak to anyone about a specific instrument except the instruments owner. thats a violation of privacy laws, plus its a well known trick used to steal instruments from an unsuspecting shop. so it is policy for us to require a "called in" customer to give us the claim check number before speaking with them, unless I was the the one calling them first. that said, I'm not responsible for something someone says when they answer my phone without my knowledge. I've never spoken to any violin teacher ever on this matter, she was just the innocent victim of a prankster who happened to be at my shop that day. and for that I apologize. sorry, I was never told her name. I'm also very sorry Jenn Piroth had a poor experience. it was not understood at that time by me, and Phil kept what was said in his phone conversation with Jenn from me. but the supply chain issue are still not fully cleared up even today, and we are still experiencing long delays in receiving parts and supplies. plus our shop is back ordered 4 full years on custom builds and repairs. it's the main drawback of a small 1 man luthier shop. so if your in a hurry, please take it somewhere else. they probably need the business. Please feel free to visit us at anytime. mon-friday 10am-6pm and Saturdays 10am-3pm
