I purchased the Beyond by Aerus air filter unit last year for my allergies. One of the main problems I have is with smoke, even cooking smoke. So, the test the representative showed us about how it takes smoke out of the air was of extreme importance to me. The filtration unit never filtered out any smoke in my home that I was able to notice. I tested it to see how long before cooking smoke went away and it was many hours. I'm still not sure the unit had anything to do with the smoke odor finally going away. One more thing that was very bad was the chemical smell the new filter gave off when plugged in for the first time. I was very allergic to it! I had to put it in another room in the house and shut the door and run it for 2 weeks before the chemical odor went away and I cold tolerate it.
