Not what it used to be. Came here to celebrate a promotion for both my girlfriend and I. Everything started out well, but quickly went down hill. We ordered a Ceasar salad with sardines and tomato bisque soup to start. With seared scallops and T-bone ribeye for dinner if I remember correctly. After that we didn't see our waiter for a while. He did come by and asked why we had not received our food yet, I said "great question". After he checked the starters were served quickly. Neither one of the items were up to standard from what I remember this restaurant to be. The salad was no better than what you could buy inside of a plastic bag at your favorite grocer minus the sardines. The soup had way too much sugar which I couldn't understand. Neither item was finished. The scallops were brought out without any searing tasting extremely mediocre. The steak was nothing great either; You can make the entrees at home better than Spencer's if you Google any recipe and grabbed a steak from Harmon's. It was a very disappointing experience. I used to dine at Spencer's before and after the smoke ban years ago it was wonderful. This is not what it used to be. The waiter had even noticed our frustration and lack of enthusiasm. He offered free dessert which we declined. He also removed the cost of the cork fee, salad and soup which was very kind. I recommend some place else if you're looking for fine dining. Unless you don't mind slow / absent wait service, mediocre food and a nice decor. For 150 plus dollar type of dinner, cook at home or go elsewhere. The man bringing the water to us was the best aspect of the night.
