Dear Tom, I'm sorry that we did not meet your expectations for Nigel's boarding despite our Medical Director, Hospital Manager and boarding team's personal care of him. We wanted to be honest that if he were to stay for longer periods, we are worried his body would not do well. We are happy to discuss Nigel's care further via phone or email. If you are boarding an elderly dog I would suggest a different business. Our elder dog came back with what we were told was "salivation" but was laying in urine. We were essentially asked not to board our dog in the future because of his high anxiety and their inability to show some compassion. Even after returning home it took 2-3 days for our dog's routine to return to normal. If you can get into Roscoe's Ranch it is so much superior.
Aloha and welcome to Renton from Hawaii! As you have noticed, Dr. Coil and her team provided an extremely thorough physical exam to discover several medical issues that warrants treatment for Dexter and Kaya's best health. Recommendations such as a Comprehensive oral health assessment and treatment with extraction of a fractured large molar to treat pain and infection were reviewed in a clear treatment plan estimate. Nail trims and dental treatments are not requirements for boarding, but up-to-date vaccines and fecal samples are, which we are still pending records despite reaching out to your previous vet several times. We are happy to point you to resources to learn how to trim their nails so that you can do that for free in the comforts of your own home. We appreciate your time to learn how to improve your pets' health and the opportunity to extend our warm hospitality if you choose to board with us.

*** Update *** Mahalo for the owners response. We got a second opinion from another vet in the area, there was no cracked molar with infection. There were however a couple of enamel fractures that were found and the course of treatment - brush teeth to prevent bacterial growth. Glad it wasnt another thousand dollar estimate. Our babies finally got the boosters they needed, for a reasonable fee. We also purchased a new quality nail trimmer for $16 and Voila. We had high hopes for this facility. The tour of the boarding area was top notch and rates seemed reasonable. My wife and I felt confident in leaving our 2 chihuahuas in the care of EVA-Renton/Newcastle. We were told that we needed to use their veterinarian services to qualify for boarding. We scheduled both chihuahuas for their annual check up and vaccines. During the initial question and answer part of the appointment is when I began to feel uneasy. The Dr. came in, was really nice, looked at both dogs, gave us some useful information (information that we didnt already know... annual visit?) and left. When the Vet Tech came back into the room and presented the estimates, I was taken aback. I could not digest the astronomical charges on the 3 separate estimates on the counter, every charge was atleast a hundred percent or more above what we have paid for in the past for these services. $21 each for nail trims, WHAT? I asked what the charges would be for the hour up to this point and terminated the appointment. You would think that nail trims would be complimentary for an annual visit that was in excess of eight hundred dollars. 2 of the estimates were for a routine visit and the third for questionable dental work (cost not previous mentioned) $140 for an annual exam that only yielded a purple folder full of brochures. What a shame!!! I understand business, but really...Unless one has hard earned money to burn, you will definetley pay for a caring and compassionate experience.
We've been to 3 other vets since moving here and FINALLY came upon Eastside Vet Assoc. It's the little things that make all of the difference. The staff are genuine and caring and the doctors treats our pets like they are their own. Cannot tell you what a breath of fresh air it is to be a part of this establishment after the nightmares we have had in the past. Dr. Coil is fabulous!
Thank you for taking the time to let us know that you had a good experience! Lucky Dr. Engel for being able to do her physical exam and helping you get her started on the right paw. I look forward to meeting both of you in person!

I've only had one visit with our new puppy, but it was very pleasant. Clean facility, friendly staff and doctors. Everything was clear and laid out. Before scheduling an appt, even before bringing our puppy home, I had chatted with Dr Hung through Facebook. She was helpful and reassuring with every potential concern I brought up.
Dear Paige, Im sorry that we were unable to accommodate you when you called on Saturday as our entire team was in the midst of caring for a very sick patient. Our most experienced medical team triaged Ciscos symptoms and determined that he was stable to start his care at a specialty center as they are open 24/7. Since we were closing soon at 12 pm on Saturday and are closed on Sunday, we would not have been able to provide the medical work up and observation needed in that short time frame. We understand your frustration as most general practice and emergency hospitals have been at maximum capacity throughout the long pandemic. To accommodate the urgent needs of our existing established patients, we have already increased our allotment for same day urgent cases on weekdays when we have more time to provide care. We believe that good medicine cannot be rushed. Hopefully, this can help you get a glimpse into how medical triage decisions are made, so you can consider giving your next veterinary medical team some grace if they give you recommendations for the best care of Cisco. They are responsive, IF you have never been in to see them. They will not see your pet for emergencies..they send you to Blue Pearl and Blue Pearl is completely overwhelmed. They absolutely would not figure out a way to get us in, not even next day. Our dog is having intermittent seizure issues. We thought moving him to vet close to us would be best so when he was having issues he could be seen quickly. Be sure u ask if they take emergency appointment???? My advice is just dont do it!!!!!
