I have found the staff unfriendly at Fairborn Vision Center. I previously called and asked what eye insurance is acceptable to their office, upon buying that insurance and setting up visits for my family of 5 I found that my new eye insurance wasn't accepted. This office has also lost my payment, claiming it was dropped in the snow by the Post Office and then cashing it a couple months later.
Go some where else for glasses. I purchased a medium priced frame and the best of the lens's, with all the bells and whistles. When I received them I had a very hard time adjusting to them, (I've been wearing spec's for years and this was a first). Nothing seemed to be crisp. I went back told them of the problems and Dr Shroder gave me another eye exam, no charge. Did some adjustments to the glass's, then sent me on my way after a lengthy discussion. A chip out of one lens appeared, (I am very careful when handling my glasses and especially after forking over more than five-hundred dollars. They were poly-carbonate lens's. I have never had any poly-carbonate lens to ever chip. Took em back, they were under warranty. They returned them, I noticed this time they were lighter than before and the glasses are worse than before. I have put em in the box. The female technician was rude and became defensive when I inquired "why did they chip"? The exam was extensive however, he did say there was an improvement of vision in one eye, (I am skeptical). Told me this was unusual, ( I know right, but I keep my prescriptions). Long and short, the exam's may be extensive but, i would go somewhere else for glass's. Over priced frames, bad quality lens's in my opinion, they need to change vendors and encourage the female tech to attend customer service classes somewhere. I won't go back.
Ive never been to an optometrist, and my first experience was excellent. Great staff and facility! Dr. Snyder is fantastic and practical. And theyre open on Saturday for vision care and eye emergencies!

This would be a nice place, but unnecessarily complicated insurance restrictions and the staff's inability to explain (or even understand) them ended in frustration and wasted time for me. They actually kicked me out of the office before I could even speak to someone who could explain the problem in person, and after finding out in a subsequent phone call that they won't accept common coverage like Blue Cross/Blue Shield, I can't recommend the Fairborn Vision Center.
