Hello Peter, we appreciate your question. There are many factors that cause us to close mid week this early winter season. The largest factor is simply labor. We cannot get enough help for our snowmakers and lift operators. The early season weather has also not allowed us to make enough snow.

Carl, we appreciate your input and understand your frustration. Just like many resorts across the nation, we struggle to find enough outdoor staffing to operate at full capacity. We are thankful for our staff that continue to work long hours in order for us to be open at our current level. The good news is the snow is great and the coldest of winter should be behind us!

The prices have just gotten outrageous. Hours are terrible. 20 years ago they were open until 10 everyday. Now 4 o'clock during the week. How can school age kids ski after school with those hours. Weekends have been 6 o'clock closing, for the price I wouldnt waste my time

Amazing place to ski. I do Nordic and Alpine, unfortunately I have only ever Nordic skied there so I can not speak for the alpine runs but the Nordic trails are amazing and where maintaining well for the weather (it was snowing hard) over all this was an amazing place to ski.

We just went to the spring carnival day, Giants ridge is very scenic and the runs are of decent length with a good variety. A beginner skiier may find a true "green" run hard to find, and an expert may find the Black runs a bit weak. The bigger concern to be aware of the hassle to get a lift ticket, for starters be sure to buy them online, then when you get to the ticket office look for the hidden "online purchases" line to redeem your voucher and skip the EXTREMELY SLOW AND LONG LINE for on site lift ticket purchases. Another tip, if looking for food & drinks and you find the chalet is too busy, try walking 200 feet to the motel bar/restaurant, it is often empty and you can get served immediately.
