Table of 8 on a Saturday night. We were sat right at the top of the stairs, people smoke right outside the front door so all you can smell is other peoples smoke coming into the building while you're trying to eat. Vegan burger was sent back and still not cooked properly. Chips also sent back as they were undercooked and cold in the middle, came back barely cooked again. Our table also ordered a lobster risotto and mushroom risotto, both undercooked, no taste of lobster at all, just tasted like onion and was cold in parts as if it was microwaved. 2 Dover soles priced at 28,99 both over cooked and they want extra for veg, literally comes with about 10 potatoes. We left hungry and went to mcdonalds on the way home. We did however have 2 lovely waitresses. Over priced and poor quality of food, wouldn't recommend.

Thank you for your review, you are right we were completely under staffed in the kitchen and front of house, a combination of sickness and struggling to find experienced staff left us in chaos. With hind sight, maybe we should have taken a lot less bookings, but we cant work backwards. Glad you had a lovely evening elsewhere wishing you well take care Louise

Booked here for valentines evening. When we called up we specifically asked if they had a set menu, and we were told no. Unfortunately, when we arrived, it was indeed a set menu. With very limited options to choose from. We were told that they could offer the seafood linguine from the main menu, but that was all. This became irrelevant as we left before getting our drinks. Unfortunately the service was slow. This was not a confined issue to just us. We were sat fairly close to another couple where we could hear the same conversation we were having. As we were leaving, there were people we knew also sat down that we saw on the way out, and they also confirmed that the service was slow. One of the staff members also confirmed that they were a little short staffed. Ordinarily, the slow service and menu difficulties wouldn't be an issue, but due to the fact it was on valentines evening, it sort of ruined the night. Thankfully we were able to get sat down elsewhere and had a lovely meal. The food that we did see on the way out, did look very nice. It is a shame that this venue has now been tainted for us.

Nice seafood restaurant is Leigh-on-Sea. Ordered mussels and jambalaya with Chips and bread. Food was nice although not excellent, mussels sauce lacked finesse. Jambalaya had too many kidney beans and the prawns were tiny. Service was great and friendly, nice buzz to the restaurant too, although some diners might find the drinkers in the bar a bit too loud. Give it a go.

Thank you for your review and thank you for being a customer for 20 years, you would think after 24 years of being here we would never get things wrong, like under ordering (especially as we have had the same chefs for 24 years) but we do. Also, after 24 years you would think that we would not be bothered by upsetting and disappointing reviews, but you would be wrong, in fact they upset and hurt us even more (maybe it is my age). It does make you sometimes want to sell the building to MacDonalds and move to the outer Hebrides. So once again sorry we got it wrong and sad not to see for you a few years, but hey you never know next time you can buy a Big Mac!

Been a customer here for over 20 years....but tonight was a real disappointment. No specials, no fish of the day and even no pasta. Not going to hurry back. Thank you for the response. The outer hebrides are truly lovely place, but I'm not interested in buying a macdonalds, just good quality fish, so please don't sell your premises to them and move away.
