My service experience here was absolutely horrible! If I could give zero stars, I would. I was forced to have my computer service by them since I have Safeware Insurance. The process to get my computer repaired has been a long and strenuous process. The lack of communication between the Syracuse University Bookstore and The Comptuing Center was non-existent. I visited the bookstore several times to check the status of my computer almost every time they were unaware. It wasnt until a nice lady in the tech center called the The Computing Center to check the status of my computer did I hear from them, after being told by several staff members that they would contact me with information concerning my computer. I was informed by the bookstore, who spoke to Rose Christofferson that my computer wasnt receptive to the two battery replacements they attempted to use to replace my battery in my macbook. However, the macbooks motherboard was damaged, so they sent it to Apple. A month has gone by and I still havent received my computer and while I did attempt to contact Rose Christofferson at The Computing Center, she never emailed me about the status of my computer as she stated that she would. Today, I contacted Apple and was informed that my case has been closed and the macbook has been shipped. THANK GOD! While the fault isnt completely on them, they were absolutely useless in communicating with me about my computer. As a student, I have several assignments that are due requiring my computer and I am currently applying to law schools which just makes this situation all the more troublesome. I just hope they can work on their customer service and client management for the next. Honestly, it would just be best that you find another repair service or take your computer straight to Apple instead of The Computing Center.

We are saddened that you found our service work less than adequate, particularly after we requested that you carefully inspect our work at the time you picked up your laptop. Each service event that we handle is important and we work very diligently to make things right with every client. If you choose, that opportunity exists. We are very up-front in telling clients that we primarily use OEM parts (manufacturer supplied) to repair devices. Yes, they are typically more expensive than generic or 3rd party parts. However, we find that equipment repaired this way stays fixed simply put, they dont come back. And on the rare occasion an OEM repair part fails, there are solid warranties behind those parts. We are extremely cautious about using 3rd party parts and when people bring-in their own parts for us to install regardless of where they came from. Frankly, results are mixed. Some work fine. Others have various issues. Clients have choices. We appreciate that greatly. We also appreciate the many businesses and individuals that have chosen The Computing Center since 1978 for our repair services as well the myriad of high quality products, engineering and technical services, training, and consulting that we provide. Took my laptop in to get it repaired. An initial diagnostic was done for $70 ( will be credit if you choose to use them to fix laptop). Cooling fan was broken. Fan and service from them were very expensive. I opted to purchase my own fan off of eBay for 20% of their price. Took fan back to have them complete the install. Quick turn around. Good service but very expensive. UPDATE: After closely inspecting my laptop, I noticed a couple mistakes/ broken parts. The back cover was not secure correctly (see attached pics). Also, while attempting to attach the back cover, it seems like the area to the right of the fan was cracked. My ultrabook is much more fragile than standard laptops. I have edited my rating from 3 stars to 1 star due to lack of care taken with my laptop. I would not recommend this place to anyone. As the other reviews have mentioned, you're better off going somewhere else. Collegetown has many more reliable and cheaper locations.

Amazing people and customer service!! Had work done on my old computer and bought all my new office products through them they helped me out in every aspect in setting up the softwear and getting the right fit for my computer and programs to helping me get it set up ill never go to another computer tech place for anything again!! Only place in central ny to go!!

Took them over a month for them to repair my laptop. Terrible communication and poor customer service. Save yourself the trouble and find another tech repair option.
