We called HB home service on Thursday 07/22 because our water heater was no longer heating the water. Prior to calling them we were able to relit the pilot light and we thought everything was resolved. Only to discover that the flame kept shutting off. When we scheduled the service call, we did inform them of this. They attempted to call me while I was at work, even though my wife gave her info as she was going to be home all day. They sent the tech to another job since I did not answer my phone. The tech ended up coming and and relit the pilot light and said since its so late thats all he can do right now. It went out again not even 20 minutes after he left. They charged $230 to do something that we had already done, that didnt work and which is why we called them to begin with. Four days now with no hot water. Avoid at all cost!

The technician was courteous and punctual. He was thorough when explaining his findings. The price was a bit steep for the service provided. We also requested a dryer vent cleaning on the second floor. They doubled the price because it was a second floor. Thw technician didn't try to find a different solution for the high altitude of the vent. (A couple of days later we hired another company and their technicians found a better, less costly way of cleaning the whole vent from the attic of our home). Finally, the company said that they were going to inquire about warranty for our A/C model that needs repairing and get back to us. We're still waiting...It's been over a week. Although we appre interested their easy scheduling and the staff courtesy and manners, we wouldn't recommend this company for A/C tune-up or dryer vent cleaning.

We just got a Mitsubishi HVAC system installed by HB Home Service to replace our gas furnace and central AC. We are impressed by how well run HB Home Service is as a company. Lora is the sales person who convinced us that HB was the best choice. She had a much deeper knowledge of HVAC equipment and needed electrical upgrades than the folks in the other three companies we interviewed, and she was better at communicating with us afterwards. She came back when the team started work and stayed with them for a while. That's probably how she gets the same level of knowledge as the installers and can advise customers wisely and truthfully. The installer C.J. had impressive competence and was good at sharing progress updates and explaining how they were getting around obstacles encountered during the two days of work instead of trying to keep us off their hair as some installers do. Emily and other folks at the front desk kept us well informed of equipment delivery updates between Lora's visit and installation (that was comforting as it took 5 months for Mitsubishi to deliver the outdoor heat pump). Overall this was a very positive experience. We recommend HB Home Service to anyone who wants to deal with a well-run company with a surprising concentration of smart people.

Purchased an expensive AC system from HB about 3 years ago. Recently it stopped working. BH spent about an hour and diagnosed coolent leak needing new coil. They charged us close to $500.and said that we can't use it until they order and install the new coil and add coolent. They gave an estimate for nearly $1500 for this. Called another company and they came and said that we have a slow leak and they added coolent. They said that we should have the coil replaced eventually and didn't charge for the visit. They estimated the cost to install the coil, which is under warranty and coolent to be around $700. I cancelled with HB and got them to refund me the service plan which they convinced me to buy. I don't understand how they are unable to locate my account when my credit card was charged $470.26 on 5/2 and credited $132 on 6/9.
