Not impressed with their service at all. They didn't do the work they promised. Charged well over estimate for a dry out. They left their equipment at my house without returning to check if dry and charged for the extended equipment time.
Where can I start, if I could give them 0 stars I would. We had a house fire and they were the company that the fire department called. It all started out good. Joe Blackwood came to our house and got things boarded up that night, but thats where the helpfulness ended. Our house was damaged but it was estimated to be back in our house 3-4 months later but it ended up being 8 months and the only reason it got done was because we fired them. They replaced the trusses in our house that were damaged WITHOUT pulling permits and our house was ticketed with a Stop Work sticker on our window. They started on the siding and did an AWFUL job. They asked us to sign a waiver that didnt require them to warranty their work because we wanted them to stagger our siding so that we didnt have vertical boards every 8 feet. We provided them with instructions on how to install the specific product that they chose. They didnt replace the fascia board, the soffit, and instead of replacing the gable completely they took a skill saw an inch away from the top of the gable then attempted to match the new siding with inch left at the top. It doesnt stop there either! Their workers used our toilets but there was no running water because they didnt supply an porta-potty. So it was left to us to go check on the progress of the house to find standing raw sewage in both of our bathrooms. We called and talked with Joe and he promised it would be done, it took until the next week for it to be fixed. Then he ensured us that the toilets would be pulled to avoid this problem again. Joe never had the toilets pulled and two weeks later there was raw sewage again in our master bathroom. We asked them to fix it again and it took another 4 days to have the guest bathroom toilet pulled with sewage still in our master. We finally got them both pulled. We decided to fire them and hire a new contractor but DK still had all of our belongings in their storage. They overcharged our insurance for EVERYTHING including things they never did! Example: we didnt have closet doors but they charged to take those off along with every other door in the house (still never happened). Also, those permits they didnt pull and we got ticketed for? They charged us for them! They held our stuff hostage because they couldnt agree on a price with our insurance (because they were charging for things they never did). It took them two months to get things right. Then told us our bill was later because we hadnt paid it within a week, still without an itemized invoice sent to our insurance. They damaged our garage door. While I will give them credit for replacing the whole door when they one damaged one panel, they didnt replace it with the insulated panels that were there before the damaged them they also didnt hook it up so now we are responsible for getting it to work again. Although they promised they would insulate them after we paid them we have not heard from them nor am I holding my breath for it! In the end, our insurance paid them just to be done with them. Honestly, theres more I could say but I think you get it by now. Will never recommend this company for anything to anyone, would only advise to stay as far away as possible from them. Side note, JK Construction was able to finish the whole thing in two and a half months.
Upstairs flooded and within an hour Disaster Clean-up was there. We sure appreciate ALL the staff that have come to work on putting our house together. They were professional and got right to work! Gina was very much appreciated. She was here doing a great job with painting. My husband found a leak coming in from a bedroom window while it was raining outside. She jumped into action and got a tarp up on the roof and was in the attic. She had already put in a long day here and saved our house from greater damage! Hope we never need them again; but if we do, they will be our first call!
I have DK for 10yrs now and they have always been fair but most important knowledgeable. Working in the Insurance industry it is few and far between, companies that provide service based off need and not how much they can get away with. In fact DK has in some occasions not charged for small services so the Insured could avoid a claim. That's how they operate with integrity & why I personally will continue my 10yr relationship with them. Thank you DK your the BEST!

Beware! Not sure where to begin but whatever you do, knowing you are in a bad situation and need help cleaning up etc. encourage you to NOT call this company. Communication and follow through is not their strong suit....over billing and wanting control of all your insurance money is... just a heads up.
