Visited yesterday whilst on shift with a client. I am a senior support worker. The cafe served nice food the dog roaming around was friendly. (Hard to give no stars but will give one for the lovely girl in the cafe)However once in the shop we realised it was small, we always agree when they are small to take our time to admire each product individually to make the most of it! My client was looking at chocolates near the exit then called me to look, the butcher than frantically called the shop assistant to which he then swiftly came right behind us, blocking the exit. We stood there for some time as he was showing me the chocolates he found, the store assistant hovering the whole time. I asked if we were in his way he stumbled on his words saying he was looking to see if he needed to top up the display the only single one we were looking at he then carried on following us around. I am not a fool and I understand him to believe we were thieves, I also understand he was instructed by the butcher to do this probably as when we looked at the plants after the butcher watched us very eagle eyed, overall this ruined the experience, I managed to keep my client distracted to what was going on but god forbid he wouldve wanted to look at the woven baskets outside by the exit before paying, wed have probably been tackled!! Will not return
Second time visited first time mo one came to serve left after 30 mins. Gave it another ho today for daughters birthday. Checked on line saying was open. Arrived it was shut to be told chef off. No post online. Trying to support local business won't be bothering again. Big disappointment.
We,a local business, had a Christmas breakfast which was enjoyed by all of us and I especially enjoyed the scrambled eggs, such a simple dish but oh so often ruined, but not this morning. All freshly cooked and on hot plates. Well done to The Stables.
Great day out if the weather is nice. We took our 2 girls strawberry picking which kept us entertained for the best part of an hour, followed by a walk around to see all the animals and a quick play in the sandpit. They loved it and as always it is just nice to get out of the house. There were other things to do to such a animal handling and a tractor ride. It didn't cost us anything to get in and the strawberries were extremely cheap, I believe the tractor ride was only a 1. My only gripe is that the canteen was over priced with a can of Coke costing 1.90!
Very surprised to see shop closes at 1 pm on Sundays if this will include new cafe. Previously, the cafe was always busy on Sundays with lunches and afternoon teas.
