First visit, and no doubt a lovely place. However, I don't like being ripped off, and charging 7.50 for a bottle of very average beer is taking the proverbial!Maybe I would be more understanding if it was pint bottle, but it was 330ml! Spirits - a whole other level.

The worst and most overpriced coffee we ever had in UK: 22.5 for 3 coffees. More expensive than in a 5 star hotel in central London. If it was good I wouldn't have mind paying. But it wasn't. I don't usually leave reviews and don't like to argue on spot, but I think this might help the team there. There are recipes available online for flat white & Americano coffees so there is really no excuse for not knowing how a flat white looks like. Instead of an Americano we got something that looked like a tea - we were joking it was the water used to clean the coffee machine. Definitely didn't come from an espresso machine, more a drip coffee? But for almost 8 it must have been the most expensive coffee ever. Instead of a flat white (espresso & frothed milk) we got some warm milk with a bit of coffee. The only coffee they got right was the cappuccino. The waiter ignored us sat at the table in the garden and we were only able to order once we went to the bar. Some orders were taken at the table some didn't.

Great place to stay, rooms are big and beds massive and comfortable. Had dinner as part of a deal, and enjoyed drinks in the bar. Only thing I could say we be nice to see some EV chargers in the car park.

Hilary, I was sorry to read that you felt the cost of our fresh loose leaf tea was not of fair value. We do offer complimentary top ups to our guests and our price includes service unlike many of the hotels of similar standard to ourselves. I do hope you enjoyed our gardens which are open for all to visit and enjoy the surroundings.
