The eye doctor is excellent. The receptionists were disorganized and told me that my visit would cost $35 (my copay) but when I went to pay the fee had changed to $74. The extra cost was for imaging that I was not told about.
They had a lot of trouble finding my insurance. Felt a lot like they were blaming me for not knowing the parent company. I was confused about the way they provided prescriptions for contact lenses. The same insurance at a different optometrist did it differently, I went back to the car to get my prescription for them to look over, I stood in the lobby for 15 min without being acknowledged so I left.
While the doctor was not in network, I decided to follow through with my appointment. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Maybury have a thorough eye exam and I was able to go next door for replacement lenses.
Everything went smoothly. Social distancing was followed. All areas were clean and machines were cleaned before I used them. The staff was nice and kept me informed of what to expect. I felt the doctor was very thorough throughout the exam.
I've never had a Dr see me with so little thoroughness. He failed to let me know that I was being prescribed toric lenses which must be placed in your eye a certain way. He didn't instruct me at all about putting them in or that they would cost a lot more than regular lenses. Also, while waiting, I witnessed the front desk staff act deliberately obtuse when a customer walked in with a strong accent and little understanding of how insurance works. It seemed very much like they were not interested in his business. I would never recommend this place to anyone!
