My husband went to get new glasses. They kept messing up his lenses and he has to go somewhere else to get new glasses. The receptionist is very rude! I am not going there anymore.

Let me start by saying I have been a patient of Dr Gerigs for years and he is 5 STARS! However his receptionist is the reason for me writing this review. I have had a few ongoing issues with her..She gave me a hard time a couple years ago because my insurance had switched from the previous visit after several harassing text messages I finally made an appointment. Again the Dr is 5stars! After that appointment I was pregnant and my vision had changed slightly and I called the office to see if I could try the next power up of contacts since I had just had my visit, she was rude back then and said NO she wouldnt give me a trial pair since I purchased my contacts else whereIt was a lot at that time so I just let it go and fortunately my vision went back to normal fast forward to now, I place a contact order through my regular contact supplier and get a DENIAL. I call them and they state that the DR said I need an eye exam I explained my RX is not expired and they suggested I call the office, so I call and it was AWFUL. The lady identifying herself as Christine tells me my RX is expired, I tell her impossible Im looking right at it and she just kept telling me I was wrong. So I ask to talk to the DR , nope hes not available. I email her my actual RX and she still has the nerve to tell me she will have to get it approved through the DR. It was really unbelievable. I had the phone hung up on me 2 times and literally talked over the entire conversation it left me so upset. No one should have to deal with this miserable human being. My hope in writing this review is that the Dr see it, because I will never go to this place again and its not because of the Dr its because of Christine shes awful and unprofessional. I should add after the 3 phone call she called me back and said she found a small note with my RX and that she wouldnt reject my next contact order.

Dr. Gerig and his staff are the BEST!!! My family and I have been their fortunate and grateful patients for over 30 years (since we moved to Oregon). Dr. Gerig has ALWAYS been the most knowledgeable, possessing the cutting-edge scientific evidences and art of optometry (I have been a practising medical doctor for over 30 years too), and always spends his valuable & quality time, with best efforts to explain, counsel, and help each of us (and other patients) to thoroughly understand our eyes & vision problems/conditions, and the long term vision health, corrections, solutions, & prevention...working beautifully with our ophthalmologists if needed. He is most skilled, experienced, thorough, and accommodating (with his wonderful staff) in providing us the best and alternative solutions to many difficult vision issues we have. We cannot THANK THEM ENOUGH!!!! They really have the patients' BEST INTEREST in mind, and treat us like family & friends!!!! We are very grateful and count ourselves very lucky to have received the excellent and exceptional care from Dr. Gerig and his staff!!!!

Long story short it has taken around 4 months from exam to now to get a copy of my contact prescription. Been wearing glasses for 30 years and never had this level of frustration with an optometrist. My family and I will be going elsewhere and I hope you do too.
