Awesome experience! I gifted my husband three tailored shirts from here for his birthday. We went together to our private appointment. We were the only ones in the (cozy and stylish) space and received full undivided attention. We went through hundreds of patterns and details. Shirts arrived in a very timely manner and my husband loves them! I am so happy we found 9 tailors! We will be back for more!

This was my first time buying a custom suit. And I very likely will stick to this process. To me, it's the way I would want it done. So you first set up an appointment (I had Ellen, but she left recently) and you go in, preferably wearing a dress shirt and a pair of shoes, which will help with the measurement. She went over what seemed like an overwhelming amount of information calmly and had several suggestions based on my questions. From color/fabric, to how many buttons, the types of pockets in your pants (there are more than one????) to custom color outline stitching or interior colored piping/patterns, you can pick it all. Then you will be measured, and you wait until the suit comes in. I believe they go through a tailor/company in Shanghai, so it will take about 6 weeks or so to get in, so plan accordingly. Once it comes in, you go back in to try everything on to ensure it all fits (or that you didn't gain weight.....). If adjustments need to be made, 9tailors will take care of it. Ellen (and Sam, the owner) was great. Ellen, along with my now fiance convinced me to get a vest along with the suit, and when it all came in, the experience was something I'll never forget. When I put that suit on, and saw how great everything fit, I felt like a king. Then there were four beautiful women in there that basically gasped at how nicely the suit looked on me after I put it all on - especially the vest. Some things to note - the fit is a bit snug, much more than you're probably used to. You're in a suit, and unless you're James Bond, you won't be doing anything more than a slight jog to maybe catch a bus, so you don't need to be able to do splits or to do overhead presses in a suit. When I wore it the second time, there was a slight tear where the pocket met the leg on the pant, and it was hardly noticeable. I brought it back later that month and they fixed/reinforced it. I've worn it 5+ times since and it has been fine. On quality of fabric, I admit I'm not an expert but it doesn't feel like a really high quality fabric. But then again, this isn't a $2,000 suit we're talking about - it felt more than fine. For what was paid, I consider a ton of value extracted between the feeling I have when I wear the suit, to the post-purchase experience with follow ups, advice (I thought I gained weight and freaked out, so I came in and made sure everything still fit ok, and I had a change of mind with my 3 piece suit and Ellen helped iron the lapel down to make it a 2 button suit, no problems). I was a little bit of a boring customer because I was looking for two suits that could fit several different uses, so I got really basic suits. But if you wanted something custom made for a wedding, or something with flair, this can be truly fun. Since then, I have gotten a blazer from their sample sale for 60 dollars, and am about to schedule another appointment for a suit. I can't wait.
