Our son is a boarder. In our opinion, Loomis strikes the right balance (not easy to do) between rigorous academics delivered in a nurturing and supportive community that values the diversity of persons and ideas represented in that community. Nowadays, high school has turned into a race to get into college and all about the grades! Loomis understands those pressures and values first and foremost that the students appreciate and embrace the phenomenal learning environment. High school should not be speeding through clicking off courses so you can get into a particular college. Loomis understands that and we are thrilled with our son's experience there. The head of school and faculty are outstanding.

The large majority of people with Loomis lineage are decendents of Joseph Loomis. On my bucket list to visit the school/homstead. Mother's maiden name-Loomis. Grandfather is listed in the book of Loomis (available at this school's bookstore).
