Hello Mary. Thank you for your review. I am sorry that you experienced poor service with us today. I do not know who you spoke to at the door, but I will talk to everyone here and ensure that we are being as polite and helpful as possible. We were missing three staff for a funeral today, and Mondays can be very busy with orders from our website over the weekend. It is not an excuse by any means, but we may have been a little stretched, especially around early afternoon. I can assure that it has nothing to do with you being a woman, a statement I find quite upsetting and not at all reflective of us as a business. Please also bear in mind that our trade counter is closed due to COVID, and we are not serving customers at the door. If you do not have a credit account with us, then we are open only for prepaid click & collect orders through our website. This is not a policy that we want to put in place or did so for no reason - this is due to COVID and it is to keep both our staff & customers safe. We're only a small team and if one of us contracted COVID, the whole shop would have to close for two weeks, so I am sure you can understand why we feel we need to keep the counter closes. If you need any help identifying products or need some technical advice, please either email us or give us a call and we'll be happy to help if we can.

Hello Mark, Many thanks for taking the time to leave us a review, although I feel it is unfair and not a fair reflection of the service you received. You say that you 'eventually got a refund' - this was never in question and we were always happy to refund upon return of the items. We even refunded the bent/snapped screws even though we were under no obligation to. As we explained to you, stainless steel is very soft and needs to be properly pre-drilled when used into oak. They are expensive products and are not poor quality. We sell thousands of these products every year and get hardly any problems. When there is an issue it is always down to installation - proper preparation is needed to install them. We did send off the broken screws for testing, but this only a few weeks ago and we have not heard anything back yet. We are only a small business with 4 people working in the shop - 1 of which is on holiday this week and Tony the owner has been busy each time you called today. The reason I can respond to your review is that I am working from home & not in the main office. If you want to talk to someone, I will email you my phone number and you can call me directly. Once again, I am sorry you are dissatisfied, but you most certainly did not receive poor customer service from us. We offered to help with advice for pre-drilling, but you did not want to know. Recently purchased 250mm stainless Steel timco fixings,very expensive when using them 1 snapped and the other one bent really poor quality. So decided not to use anymore, complained, eventually got refund and said they would test product and let me know and no surprise they didn't bother.Have phoned a few times today to speak to owner and was told he was dealing with another customer and would ring back .Two phone calls later same response ,poor customer service, poor products .Also funny how you can take the time to reply to my review but was always to busy to speak to a dissatisfied customer .NOT GOOD SERVICE.
