This company will leave you disappointed the whole way through a build. From not laying your foundation in the agreed upon location, continually having the wrong materials ordered and installed, to delaying build process way beyond the agreed upon time of completion on the contract. Working with management is a very tiring process with frustrating results. The above is just a few of the problems I encountered while working with this company do yourself a favor and find another builder and avoid the constant mistakes I see on a daily basis in my new home.

Jim, thanks so much for sharing your experience with us. We enjoyed building your home...it was our first one at that location. We are glad that you feel comfortable sharing the positive and negative aspects of your experience with us...and we are sorry that a couple of those fell short of your expectations. You're right, there has been a building boom here in Huntsville but regardless, we are using your feedback to make changes (particularly in the areas of product review and sub-contractor training) that we feel will enhance our customer's experience going forward. They do a nice job. Chris the person who came and did a lot of the warranty work is outstanding (he's 5 star). Their warranties are only as good as their subcontractors - some of them 5 star (Durham Service, Bowers Plumbing) and some of them are sub par (the HardiBoard Installers were a disappointment, the way the product was installed left a lot to be desired - if had it to do over again, would use brick). Chris came back and did a lot of the small things and this made the experience much better. We had fusion grout installed (extra cost item) there was a mold and stain problem and the subcontractor (James Carpet) declined to do anything about this - will not use them again. There were some subcontractors whose interpersonal skills left something to be desired. Given that there is a building boom in Huntsville grateful for everything that went well. If was to do this again with Compass Homes would have added some specific contractual things.

Very good office. Ample parking for visitors, space for people to discuss home/design plans, review design studio items. Staff we super helpful.

They were friendly and helpful, but did not understand some of the options I need in my house. They don't appear to do homes above $300,000, from the answers I got.

This place is very unorganized. The people I met with for two months were never prepared and the prices changed significantly between meetings. I was never able to get a call back when requested and had to call and demand meetings to be scheduled. After all of this, I decided to pursue a different builder and have not looked back.
