The service department is great if you need an oil change, not so great if you need anything else. My dog has eaten my seat belts twice. (She has a muzzle now.) The first time the service department had me go to the parts department to order them. The parts department is in the back down a hill where I thought I could get run over. Then I had to come back to have them installed. Now I have ordered the seatbelts, but they do not have an appointment open until the end of June. If it wasn't a warranty part, I'd go somewhere else. While I love my Subaru Outback, I likely won't buy another one in Nashville just because of the service department.

I honestly just called to check on a vehicle and the service tech guy who I wished I had his name immediately started going in on how they call us when the vehicle is done and then put me on hold came back and said it was done two days ago and that I need to check my voicemail I never got a word in to even complain about not getting a call before he hung up. He is lucky I didnt get his name because that type customer service needs to be addressed face to face. Please dont respond about talking to the service manager because if he thought it was ok to act like that when I didnt say ONE word other than giving him the VIN then he is not worried about being addressed by his supervisor!

Had a great experience purchasing my Subaru here. Was assisted by Cliff, a new addition to the Downtown Subaru team, who was wonderfully helpful during the decision making process. Cliff was knowledgeable about the car I was looking for and made a first-time purchaser feel in control of the process. I took my car in for a couple of recalls which they resolved in a timely manner. While I was there I asked them to look into a problem I was having with my manual transmission. I was told there would be a diagnostic fee of ~$170 which seemed high but it was convenient and I figured worth it since it might be a weird problem and they specialized in Subarus. They ended up telling me I needed to have my whole clutch replaced for $2500+. When I called to ask them what the problem was all Tommy would tell me was its a clutch problem and replacing it will fix the problem. I almost did it but $2500 seemed high so told them I wanted to get another quote. Turns out that was very high, multiple other mechanics would do it for over $1000 less. But beyond the high quote, it turns out I didnt even have a problem with my clutch. It was a simple $25 fix that a mechanic friend of mine quickly found. Beyond the high quote and likely intentional misdiagnosis, the diagnostic fee ended up being over $200 with hidden fees and one of the garage works was really rude by mocking me because I couldnt remember what Tommy looked like from when I dropped the car off while ironically he clearly didnt even know who Tommy was by name. I only recommend going here if you have a recall. Otherwise try to find a reputable mechanic because this one certainly isnt.
