We had a mixed experience at the Buoy and Oyster. The welcome and service was exceptional. We were sat quickly and at a table with exquisite views of the beach. John, our server was really good. He made sure we had everything we needed and answering all of our questions. We had the prawn head cappuccino for a shared starter and this was a wonderful experience. The texture was smooth and frothy and the prawn flavour deep and rich. Our mains were beautiful to look at but there were a few problems. Some of my items on the Buoy Bowl were overdone and there was a lack of seasoning on both of our dishes. The restaurant and the service are spectacular and worth a visit. Unfortunately, for us, the main event was a let down. We'd certainly consider returning for different dishes but first we are likely to explore the other culinary experiences that Margate has to offer.

A must restaurant to go in Margate. Foods in here never disappoints, that is why we always come back! Our favourite is the whole crab and the oysters!

Hi Rich. We are so sorry that you did not enjoy your most recent meal with us. We have passed on your feedback re: mussels to the kitchen team. With regards to the baby change this location is only due to the fact we only have one mens toilet and there is not space on the wall for a baby change unit. This is the first time someone has mentioned the door so we will look in to this, we wanted to provide customers with a large and sturdy wall mounted change unit which are unfortunately larger. We are so sorry that you left disappointed on this occasion and hope that you will accept our explanations of the points you have raised and revisit us again soon. As you have enjoyed several positive meals with us before we hope that these may outweigh this one visit and you may reconsider this 1* review. Disappointing dinner. Been here several times and previously enjoyed it. This time ordered the mussels and the majority of them still had beards attached. Not very pleasant if you dont notice before eating them. Little old fashioned as well with only baby change facilities in ladies toilet - cubicle wont close when change table down so end up just greeting all the ladies into the toilet who are wondering why youre there!
