Two stars for the location/atmosphere. I can see how people would be drawn to this place because of that (we were). But our experience was less than ideal for a first time visit to Boston... Made a reservation on Open Table, got there a bit early and seated immediately. Our server took forever to greet us and once he did he was rude because we didnt want drinks (weve been drinking all trip). Didnt come back for another 15, ordered an app, another 20 goes by and he finally communicated to us they were busy inside...Not to mention you get outdoor heaters and bread for the table at the place next door...Im sure we got there on a bad day but the servers outside were not nice and other tables looked confused about their existence as well...

Service was not great at all. Food was cold and pasta wasnt cooked thoroughly. Cuisine was like an overpriced Olive Garden. Ambiance was very nice, but hella loud.

Ciao Roma has been a very special place for us to for dinner in North End. We first went in the spring of 2020 where we ate outside on the patio on North Square Park. We met the owner that evening and he told us that the pasta fresh. Since then weve always gone back for more. The food continues to be excellent, the servers and bartenders are always hustling, and the atmosphere is warm both inside and out. We love sitting downstairs by the bar but also enjoy the upstairs, overlooking the park. Our dinner this week was so good, were going back this weekend. Highly recommended!

Magical. Made reservations to celebrate my mom's retirement and they greeted us with champaign flutes. We sat outside in perfect weather under the city lights. The server was so much fun and personable, also able to answer all our questions about the menu. The food was out of this world fresh. Rich flavors from fresh light ingredients meant we left completely satisfied without overeating. It was simply perfect and I cannot wait to return.

Don't be fooled by the patio! We canceled our reservation at another restaurant because of the patio - our bad. Food was good but nothing special. The real problem was the staff. Very rude hostess who sighed and said, "yeah" after we asked for parmesan cheese - reasonable request at an Italian restaurant - and called us "these people" to the staff member who she told to get us the cheese. Then, the waiter blew it at the end. We waited a long time before finally asking someone else for the check. As a former server who knows, this is a major mistake. We normally tip 20-25%. The waiter ended up with only 15%. Go to Bricco - we had an amazing dinner and excellent service there.
