We have great reviews because we are competitive and fair to our customers.The diamond that Nathan is referring to was not purchased for $8000, because the company that it was purchased from gives much better values than that. It was a very low quality diamond under one carat and broken, as is noted on the GIA certificate. At this point we have no interest in this stone, no matter what the price. We wish him good luck with selling his diamond. A glorified vulture is an oxymoron.

I have no idea why all the other reviewers for this business are so positive. Based on the glowing appraisals of previous reviewers and still having the original GIA report provided when I purchased the diamond from a well respected jeweler in my city, I had high hopes for receiving a reasonable price for my ring. My hopes were sadly unwarranted. The offer I received was for less than 20% of the original purchase price. Obviously, I knew there was no possibility of getting full value, but 20% is pathetic. They did get back to me fairly quickly at least. Bottom line is if you're desperate for $$, go for it. Otherwise, you'd be better off just giving the ring away. Don't help these glorified vultures make money off your misfortune.

I had an engagement ring from a recent divorce and had gone to many local jewelers getting quotes, all of which were far below what I could accept. I had even sent it to a large online purchaser of diamonds and jewelry, only to be given a worse quote than the local jewelers. Then, I came across Farewell Diamond. After a little research on the business and process, I sent an email requesting a quote with a description of the piece and the accompanying GIA certification. Boy was I pleased at the courteous and quick response from Dee, and the convenience of having the pre-labeled packing arrive at my door the next day! Within two days, I had an offer than came in $800-$1000 above all the other offers I had received. I felt they offered a fair price and their customer service is unmatched! I had a check deposited within the week. I would definitely recommend Farewell Diamond, and they will be my first contact for any future jewelry that I need to sell!

I had a lot of anxiety not only about selling my ring but about shipping it off in a box! Farewell Diamond was very professional and thorough in the explanation of the process and made me feel very comfortable! I shipped it out on a Wednesday and by Thursday (before noon!) ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE!!! If the rating system had 100 stars, I would rate Dee and Farewell Diamond a 200!! After having my Blue Nile .90 tiffany style platinum diamond ring on consignment with a very reputable jewelry store for almost a year, and having pawn shops and appraisers offer peanuts, I googled "what do you do with a divorced diamond ring?" I came across this happy divorce' blog, who suggested FD, so I immediately went for it! Believe me when I tell you, I was blown away. From email number one, to cashing my fat happy divorce' check! This company is no bullshit, and top notch! Do not even bother researching any further, or wasting any more "valuable" time, since I learned the hard way, every second your engagement diamond depreciates even more. Pull the trigger, email Dee, and be done with it. You will waste more time, which is money, going from appraiser to appraiser pawn shop to jeweler, ebay to craigslist, when you could have a check by now. I literally had a check in my hands within 72 hours of my first email to them. How valuable is your time? I have already done the research for you, and Farewell Diamond is legit. Straight up, customer service oriented, professional and fair. They will not disappoint! Stop researching where to sell your diamond, and just be done with it!! THANK YOU DEE, THANK YOU FAREWELL DIAMOND for turning my debt of a divorce into rebound and recovery.

I was hesitant at first, to send my diamond away, but I'm thrilled with the company. They kept in touch via email, gave me fair price for my ring. Once they came up with a figure, they sent the check out right away. I've recommended this company to other people, very trustworthy.
