We stayed at the ocean walk august 4-11th. The first few days were great till we turned the lights off. Our unit was infested with roaches of all sizes. We actually left a day early cause every day was getting to be more. The property manager argued with us saying they are only palmetto bugs. We only had 1 palmetto bug, but the rest were roaches. Clearly he wouldn't give us our money back for the one day but not even an apology. I will never recommend this place.
Beware of this place! I got my parents a romantic 5-day getaway for their 45th wedding anniversary at Land's End because they historically have liked to go there for long weekends, as they live in Wilmington. The policy is that the reservation is non-refundable because these are condos, but my father unexpectedly had a severe series of heart attacks and the hospital would not discharge him in time for them to travel there. I contacted the resort and gave them information about his medical condition and offered to provide all of the medical information, including the hospital's contact information. My father was going into surgery and was in a life-threatening state. The broker of the complex, Paul De Santis, refused to put me in touch with the owner of the unit to try and work out a deal where we could postpone the reservation and simply sent me a $100 gift certificate for a "future stay". Mind you, I booked this for an OFF-SEASON weekend and it rained ALL WEEKEND and he refused to refund any of the money or even give me an opportunity to work directly with the owners. Bottom line, Mr. De Santis got to collect his commissions check for the rental and could have given a hoot that my father almost died. My parents and I will never go back to Land's End Again and will avoid all Atlantic Resort Group properties moving forward.
Love the area where Lands End is located, love that the beach isnt over crowded. Unfortunately Lands End is becoming a love/hate relationship with my family.. Place needs some major updating. For the love of God, if your going to rent these places out, have enough courtesy to provide a nice bed to sleep in. Its truly a roll of the dice on whether you get a good bed or not. These owners need to be held to a standard. The bed is very important, make it nice. The Living room furniture needs to be up to date and comfy. We stayed in Room 305 June 23-30 and we dont want that room again unless it get a major update. Carpet was musty.. not impressed.. We have been coming to Lands End for years but we are considering somewhere else next year.
