I am sorry you feel that way. We actually do recommend the Acetone more than the Paint Thinner for laminate flooring even though both will work. Acetone is milder and may take several applications to remove a tough paint stain, but Paint Thinner is more harsh and can damage or discolor your flooring.

It's been a while since I first reviewed Northside Hardware in Appleton. As of March 2021 I no longer have the respect I use to have after I was told to use Acetone to remove a paint stain on my laminated floor. After I tried it and had NO results, I "googled" it and found Acetone is the main ingredient in Nail Polish Remover!! How can anything mild enough to be used on people's fingers be strong enough to remove a stubborn paint stain!!!??? Next Step: Use Bleach or Paint Thinner, or BOTH! According to Google!! NO Thanks to Northside Hardware in Appleton!!

When I need bolts and nuts to work on my boats ? I go straight to North side hardware. And all the while I'm driving over there. ( I'm thinking to myself). I hope Gill is there today. He is SO Knowledgeable about everything. SERIOUSLY. He is right on it when I walk in the door. I drive all the way across town to buy my nuts and bolts from Northside hardware. One trip to get the correct parts.

Shop local? Avoid big box retail? That has always been my preference, and Northside has always been my preferred hardware store. However, my last two visits have been pretty sad. The last visit was painful. Highly unlikely that I will continue to drive so far out of my way to attempt to shop there.
