100% 5 star review. I have recently completed the NNAS Bronze Navigation course through Explore The Great Outdoors and cannot fault any element. Booking was effortless after a short chat with Pete beforehand to ensure this was the course/start point I was after. A week before the course I received all the joining instructions which were as thorough as you would want. A few days prior to the course, storm ciera was heading in so managed to complete the first day of the course and re-booked the exam day for week after which was at no fault of Pete or Jacqui. The course was very informative, both Pete and Jacqui are full of knowledge and experience yet friendly and relaxed which is a great environment to learn in. They have all the relative and current information to hand in regards to the syllabus and go through each element. Due to being fairly local and flexible with dates I ended up being on my own throughout the two day course which was a win for me. They went above and beyond the syllabus which worked well as I was keen to learn certain elements within navigation. The location was great for all elements, classroom for the learning side of things, by the canal for pacing and beautiful surrounding area for walking and map reading. Do not hesitate booking with Explore The Great Outdoors you will not be disappointed.

Pete and Jacqui helped us design and built a Woodland Shelter. We are impressed with the high quality of the work and materials, good value, and great sense of humour and working ethic. Highly recommended!

Well I can see why these guys have all 5 star ratings. My wife and I attended a Charcoal Making Course this weekend which was run by Pete and Jacqui and what a fantastic day it was. The day was absolutely outstanding and we also met a few other like minded people who attended and enjoyed the days training as much as we did. It is clear to see that Pete and Jacqui have worked very hard to put this course together which is probably the reason it is so popular. Our safety was a very high priority throughout the day and we not only came away with a mountain of new found skills and knowledge but a full belly too Absolute credit to both Pete and Jacqui for a brilliant day, so much so that we will return this year to attend a bushcraft course as they have so much knowledge and experience to share. we can highly recommend any of their courses what ever you choose, you will have a fun packed day in a safe and controlled environment. I took my dad for his 64th birthday today, we did the bushcraft and survival skills course, it was such an incredible experience and Ive come away feeling so inspired and happy! Pete and Jackie are excellent hosts and so knowledgeable, they were so lovely to spend time with and also suited the course to our needs. The site was absolutely breathtaking and the content of the course was perfect for what we were looking for. An experience like no other, 100% recommend.
