Slow inattentive service for starters. Over priced menu with small portions. $5-$30 for 12oz serving of tea. Even the beers are over priced. The rent can't be that high to warrant Madison Ave pricing on Avenue B & 3rd Street. Other high end Japanese tea houses around 8th&9th Streets are better venues for good tea and food. 無理無理よね

If you read through the reviews youll see that many people are complaining about how inexplicably rude and unwelcoming the owner often is to guests, and how overpriced it is. These two things I have also found to be 100% true based on every time I have been there when he was there. I will not be back. But the owner should take note: if you want to stay in business you should probably hire someone less misanthropic than yourself to interact with guests.
