Great place to visit, great for art lovers. However cost little higher at least when no photography is allowed inside.

Needs an overhaul. Wall silks are grubby and carpets need cleaning. It has a moribund atmosphere and many of the paintings are of poor quality. It feels like a military mausoleum...deadly on the soul.

Had a great visit to Aspley House. It was the home of the Duke of Wellington, and has many treasures and art work from that time. Great audio guide for the house and helpful informative staff. It is run by English Heritage, so if you are a member you get in for free. Across the road is Wellington arch, and next door is Hyde park.
