Hi Geoff - thanks for giving us a shot. Instead of leaving a one star review, which actually hurts small businesses, please speak to a manager about your issues. We don't provide samples for a number of reasons. They are wasteful (it's impossible to pour 'just a taste' without wasting 3x the volume of the taste) and we need to minimize waste to be an efficient business. Offering samples is numerous extra service points (take the sample order, ring it in, bartender pours, pick up the sample, run the sample, wait for a decision, and then take a new order, bus sample glass, wash sample glass, shelf sample glass), that means our team members aren't able to do their jobs and provide service to other guests. Finally, it's 2022, we're a small business that got hit by a tornado two years ago to this date, in an industry that has dealt with immense pressures from the pandemic. When we offered samples before the tornado, too many guests would sample beers for the experience/enjoyment, not infrequently rating them on untapped, then leaving without a purchase. We should not offer our product, service or experiences for free. Again, if you'd like to learn about our decisions and what went into them, please ask to speak with a manager. You don't have to agree, but doing so will be productive for an industry of small, independent businesses, instead of hurting it.

Didn't want to waste any more money at this establishment. If they won't let you sample a beer to see if you like it before ordering. Why should I take a chance on their food. Would have poured out my selected beer but already spent hard earned money......

Let me start by saying that we visited Smith &Lentz pre-tornado and pre-pandemic and really enjoyed their beers. They had a good selection and they were very drinkable. We have come back and were pleasantly surprised by their makeover. They still have a great beer selection (though you can only get the Vienna Lager in cans to go) but the beer garden is so nice now. It is completely fenced, dog friendly, and has covered tables for rainy weather. The best part about their renovation is that they added a wood-fired Pizza oven that churns out some of the best pizza in Nashville. You can't go wrong with their limited menu. And the icing on the cake is their service. It is friendly and prompt and we couldn't be more excited to have a place like this to hang out. Check it out This is an addendum to my post. We have visited several times since this post, and I can say that we have received the same, consistently friendly and attentive service. The pizza is fantastic! If I could make one suggestion, it would be to offer a boxed wine or two. We visit several breweries in the area, and it is nice to be able to order a glass of wine once in a while. If I don't feel like having beer, and my husband does, it is nice to have that option.

Hey Nanette - thanks for supporting us and the kind words on our pizza - our kitchen crew works super hard to prep and make it, and our front of house team is excellent at making it a good part of your day! We understand that at times our music can be too loud for some to enjoy themselves. Part of that is our bartenders get so busy and dont realize how loud it is at tables, part of it is we havent yet been able to invest in a more sophisticated stereo system with zones so there arent extra loud spots, etc.. Were sorry for that if youve less than ideal time while you were here because of the volume. We do try to have a fun, lively atmosphere (which for us, is a bit louder, to be completely honest!), but dont intend for it to be night club vibes. Hope to see you back and thanks again!

Pizza is fantastic. Pepperoni is the best, but all are creative and delicious. Patio is great. However, inside the music is way too loud to enjoy a conversation at the table, and they refuse to lower the volume. This isn't a nightclub, friends go to hang out together, eat pizza, drink beer. I echo statements of others--they don't let you taste the beer, and you're charged for a glass you don't like. It happened to me.
