This school has tons of negatives. If you can't afford a lunch, they take the tray full of food and throw it away in front of your face. Instead of you eating it so it doesn't go to waste, they take it and THROW IT IN THE TRASH. today for lunch a full tray would've been a hamburger, brownie, juice, and a small small container of dole peaches. Some times they don't put all of the food your can get out on the rack so some people get more food than others and if you didn't get it they won't let you go back in and get it. You pay the price of a full lunch and only get 2/3's of it, while others students get more for the same price. Special needs students are treated like small children, the teachers walk up to them and "baby talk" to those students when most prefer to be spoken to like everyone else. They are treated as if they are incapable. But that's just how the derby rich kids treat people that don't have parents that make 450,000 a year. This school only cares about sports. All athletes can show up 15 mins late to class and are greeted with "look guys it's the state champ" and are not marked tardy. The teachers say it with a smile and then spark friendly conversation, so you know they aren't mocking them, but athletes are treated like gods here. You'll never see a state champ get in trouble here, but that's all because rules don't apply to them.after all this schools system was built with state champs in mind. The teachers are split down the middle at 50/50. Some are quality people, and others just don't seem to care. This year I have great teachers so I don't have much to say about the teachers. Students are complete egomaniacs and jerks. There is also many great students too. You can get in trouble for everything. Even dropping a pin to loud. But if your a state champ you can cuss up a storm and talk about drinking and the pickup truck your daddy just bought you. WEARING A HOOD IS A CRIME HERE. YOU INSTANTLY BECOME GANG AFFILIATED IF YOU WEAR A HOOD. You can't lay your head down even if you still are doing you work you can't lay your head down. I saw a kid doing this and a teacher walked up and dropped a book on the table to "wake up" the student that was already up and working. I know laying your head down sends a mixed message, but jeez they can have a calmer approach. At least we have a really good program with watc/wsu tech.
Not a bad school great sports program but the school has a bad reputation for bullying my daughter seen this first hand and did not get any help from the staff or administration. Definitely a down side
