I've interviewed for a job at this exact location multiple times and the most recent interview with Geo Group was just very negative and indicative of the problems I've heard within this company (one of which is constant and regular terminations. A revolving-door company atmosphere). The three man panel that "interviewed" me consisted of a rude dark-haired Hispanic man with plenty of acne scars, a silent Caucasian man with short hair and glasses, and another Caucasian man with a bald head. The Hispanic man was the only one asking questions and even then he was pretty impersonal and unprofessional; He didn't care to even look me in the eyes while asking the few questions that came up. I literally got the impression that they didn't care for or listened well to anything I was saying. The other two men were silent and seemed almost disconnected from the process, but at least the Bald guy smiled and gave off a friendly charm, unlike the other two men. If there ever were a job interview in my life where I felt like nothing I could have said would have endeared me to the interviewers and improved my chances of getting the job offer, this was it. Hey these guys were on the clock, but with how unprofessional and disgruntled they seemed, anyone could have sworn that I went ahead and just arrived at their personal homes in the middle of the night and demanded them to interview me on the spot. Here are my assumptions for why these people at Geo Group conduct business the way they do: Worst Case Scenario for the Men Themselves: They are prejudice and just immediately become disinterested with certain interviewees that have a certain appearance or disposition. It could be prejudice or it could be feeling professionally-threatened by someone they think could be a threat to their job in the company sometime in the future if that person gets a job there... or they could have just been jerks that didn't care about their jobs and just phoned it in as much as they could (particularly the hispanic-looking guy). Worst Case Scenario for the Geo Group company itself: The fix was already in and someone was already "hardwired" for the position by management in the department I was interviewing for; I was called in for an interview simply to maintain a facade of a fair and equitable candidate selection process. This kind of scenario is bad for any company because employees tasked within these selection processes while not being impartial and picking a job candidate in the interest of nepotism and not in the interest of the company are not meeting the fiduciary responsibility they owe to their employer. Geo Group seems to be the kind of place that one should seek employment with only if you have no alternative or only if you thrive in a toxic environment.
