I've always done my uniform related shopping at ellgee's but unfortunately I just had a horrible experience that will cause me to never return. I bought a pair of "non-slip" shoes at Ellgee's for $30. Within the first 15 minutes of wearing them in the kitchen I was slipping and sliding all over the place until I finally came close enough to taking a huge spill and took them off. I cleaned them up and brought them back..I understand if you don't accept used shoes but these shoes we're defective, they did not serve the purpose they advertised. However, rather than even bother to listen why I needed to return them the man kept repeating "I don't take used shoes" over and over again. Even I couldn't return the shoes to him, if it was a pleasant experience I wouldn't have walked away feeling so hurt by it but the careless and inconsiderate manner in which I was dealt with left me feeling exasperated. Clearly to this man, probably the owner, it was not his problem. I'm sure Ellgee's is great and worth checking out for people in the medical field needing scrubs and coats, however I personally won't risk such an experience again and will go online to shop with a brand I can trust.
Large selection, but don't go here unless you know exactly what you need to get. If it's your first time buying scrubs, stay away as they have a very unforgiving return policy. I went here after being hired as a psych tech at a facility where I am allowed to wear scrubs. It's my first job out of college and I don't have a ton of money to spare right now, but I thought having a pair of scrub pants could make getting ready for work easier, and I wanted to support a local business. I tried on a couple brands and went with a pair of Cherokee pants that still felt a little baggy on me, but the sales rep assured me they looked fine and that once I washed them they would shrink some. Back at home, I washed them (twice! and with non-scented detergent!) and found that they did not shrink. They were baggy & sagging, and I felt that they could be pulled down too easily. When I went back to the store to try to return them, explaining what the sales rep said and that I did try washing them, the owner/manager informed me that he could not accept them for an exchange because I had washed them. I guess I shouldn't have told them that I washed them, but I wanted him to know that there was an issue with how his employees were selling the product. He told me they would shrink "eventually," but I don't think I should have to wash a product more than once or twice for it to be work-ready. Overall, really dissatisfied with the customer service and the response I received to a simple request. With such a strict return policy you should really inform the customer at checkout. And you absolutely should not laugh at and condescend to them for trying to return a less-than-satisfactory product. I am all about supporting local business but not when they are misleading and disrespectful toward customers.
Like the fact that what one may need is in your face as soon as you walk in. No searching. This is the first uniform store I've been to that I did not have to waste time going through racks and racks to get what I need for work. Staff are pleasant and helpful.
The lady was mean and ran up on me like she was going to push me. Such rude and unprofessional service. GHETTO PEOPLE & service, NEVER SHOP HERE.
