I have had my Rapide S in for center console rattle last year, it was going to be done under warranty. People there are all nice and I have delayed writing a negative review just for this one reason. However, there is no denying the fact that I actually feel nervous getting work done at AM Houston. 1st time the car came back with the rattle still there but with a scratch on leather on steering wheel and some scuffing on the leather next to center console. I dropped the car back to fix the same issue and Mario was helpful that he got the scratch on steering wheel taken care of by his leather guy. This time when the car came back there were no interior lights working, not even on the central console. Don't know how it happened but it should have been checked before delivering. Also, the interior was dirty with finger / glove marks where ever they worked, this is not the way to take care these exotic cars. Now I give them the car 3rd time to take care of the light issue and clean up the interior. 2-3 weeks later I get it back, the lights are working, good but they had to take the rear seats out and the leather was torn behind the rear seats and again a dirty interior. I expect the technicians working on the car to understand they are working on a very expensive car and I expect them to care but it doesn't appear that way at all. Car goes back again now to fix the torn leather and interior detail. It comes back this time with a rear panel not fitting all the way, loose rear seat back and the leather job, all I can say is it looked better than torn. Now time for annual service, I asked specifically to fix the panel behind rear seat, fit it all the way and tighten the rear seat. I even showed the person (don't want to name) and he said that it will be taken care of. I get the car back and rear panel is still loose and there were dirty hand marks in the interior. I am tired of dealing with this dealership now but this is the only Aston Martin Dealer in Houston. Not the service I expect from an Aston Martin dealer so far, very disappointed is the least I can say. 2 stars only because they are very polite and nice but they need the skills and they need to care for these cars like the owners like me do.
I recently purchased a DB11 from RR of Houston. It only came with one key so I decided to buy another key from Aston M. I called ahead for the price and availability and then made an appointment for 1pm the next day. I met the service manager Mike and told him why I was there. That was not an easy conversation to explain I wanted a 2nd key. However, we got through it and I left the car for two hours. During that time I had an urgent call from Mike saying an important issue has risen. When I got back there Mike explained the VIN did not register with the AM system and he could not release the car back to me. Despite the car being registered with the DMV, had an up to-date Carfax, he decided not to release the car at the request of Aston M. He could see warranty work done on the car on 2019 but it would not register in his AM diagnostic system. The following morning I called my attorney and sent him all my paperwork. He made it really clear, the dealership had no legal right to hold my car. I called Mike and said I was coming to pick it up as there was no update on the issue. He responded very loudly" that he would not release the car until Aston in the UK cleared it up. I told him I was coming down with my Attorney and the Police and he still refused. As a courtesy, I called the dealership I purchased the car from and they immediately called Star Motors. Twenty minutes later Mike the service manager reluctantly called to say he would release my car. I would never buy a car from them and certainly NEVER recommend anyone have their car serviced there. I was furious with the attitude of the service manager. (Update) One week later I had the car shipped to Aston Martin in Austin. They had no trouble using my car on the AM system. Key was programmed and problem resolved on one day. Star's incompetence lost them a new customer.
Took in a DB9 we purchased for a full purchase inspection wanting to know anything that needed replacing. (We noticed a few things that seemed off like the headlight level and a slight pull getting on and off throttle.) In the 4 hours billed they found nothing but the tire inflator kit and wiper resevoir. Really surprised we did not get a laundry list of items since you get a more thorough recommendation of service when getting an oil change.
