This was my second visit to Lane End. Terrible menu this time around. Most of the restaurant staff were abrupt and rude except Manuel, he was very helpful. Otherwise, the rooms have been update nicely and the gym/sauna facility was adequate.

Where do I start?!?!!!!?... Too much to type... Customer service for meal times was terrible. Staff looked like they never had the place full before! It was only 150 of us and a few other guests but the staff were run off their feet. They couldn't keep up!... Food itself, no taste at all and not much choice especially for vegetarians. Only normal tea and coffee available, no herbal teas at all and no fruit available! The only thing you had was sweets in certain areas. Rooms small, shower small, nowhere to hang clothes. Ironing board broken etc, etc... They charge hotel prices of 270 Single and 220 double for a weekend but you don't get a quarter of what you get at a hotel. I personally would not choose to go there a second time. I would only stay there again if I had no other choice and had to be at the event taking place there as the building itself was ok. Not recommended at all for that price! If I paid 40 - 60 then I would say well, I got what I paid for but... Say no more!!!
Hi James, I am so sorry to hear that your experience was less than perfect. We have refurbished the majority of our bedrooms, created balconies and changed the layout to improve the space. I am sorry to hear you thought the food was poor. There was clearly something amiss, which may have had something to do with the fact that the venue was quiet with not many guests to cater for - something that is clearly not a reason for poor catering and a standard which I will address personally. We would love to welcome you back for a stay in one of our new bedrooms with a catering experience that is reflective of our usual standard. This rooms are a very poor standard. The problem is that although the conference facilities and public areas are newly refurbished, the rooms are terrible. Small, poorly maintained and shoddy. My room was also musty. Generally the rooms are worn out and in dire need of renovation. They are also extremely small with little space for a suitcase etc. Its a pity because the staff are great, food ok and a great bar, but the rooms let the whole thing down badly.
