Car Buying Experience: This dealership had the car model I wanted, in the color I desired. On the positive, as soon as I arrived, someone greeted me and I was helped immediately. The salesman quickly zeroed in my trade in and took my car keys to inspect it. I was surprised that he actually moved my car while I waited and later, when I was home, saw that he really went through my car, including the center console and looking under the trunk floor. I knew they were going to give me a super low offer and sure enough it was. I told him that I would not likely sell them my car and told him of higher offers elsewhere. With the new car, I was actually prepared to pay the MSRP as I understand it's a seller's market with low inventory. But I was astounded when he actually tacked on FOUR GRAND to the price. It was for "paint protection, mud flaps" blah, blah. Coincidentally, I had just read reviews of a used car dealership employing this tactic to add 4k to their price. I didn't think it also happened with new cars. I said I didn't want these things. The car is still in transit to the dealership so I know these additions hadn't been applied but the salesman said the add-ons were non-negotiable At this, I knew the visit had been a total waste of time. As I was leaving, he said they were willing to knock down the price of the add-ons but it makes no sense to spend a considerable amount of money on things I don't want or need.
Lack of communication and price gouging. Do not come here. Did't tell me they don't have the part. Stranded no vehicle for the rest of the week. Estimate for sensor replacement $170. Tell me it will be $600. Ask for just the sensor replacement$480, was able to talk down to $350. The price they give is not the price. I called next day asking when the car will be ready only to find out they have to order it and my car won't be ready till friday, I gave them my car on Monday. If I had known going in i would have been gone elsewhere and could have figured out transportation. How the f am I supposed to get to work for the rest of the week?
Miguel at Ocean Subaru in Fullerton was awesome. He was very straight forward and helpful throughout the entire process, from test drive to driving off of the lot with our new Crosstrek. I will definitely be recommending any family and friends to head here for an exceptional car buying experience.
Easy to spot from traffic, is very clean, interesting enough it has a "gift shop"
