Please see the following recommendations and explanations that may help you in the future. Before purchasing a vehicle at auction it is recommended that an individual buyer familiarize themselves of the policies. The selling dealership is responsible for providing titles. The vehicles do not belong to Upstate Auto Auction and therefore we do not have titles on hand for the 350+ vehicles being sold each week. You are able to obtain a 45 day temporary tag from the SCDMV for $5 to drive the vehicle until the title arrives. We do our best to receive titles and prepare them in a timely manner. Recent delays, in our opinion, have been due to the new DMV policies concerning the ELT/EVR system as well as processing changes from the Covid-19 Virus outbreak. Upstate Auto Auction has no way to know the title given to us is not the most recent until it is taken to the DMV to be processed. We work quickly to rectify the situation when this does happen, however this is out of our control. We do apologize a document was missing concerning a second purchase, but that was provided to the buyer immediately upon notifying us of the mistake.

Not the brightest bunch. This place really needs to get it together. Ive purchased two cars from this place and have had issues getting the correct titles and paperwork both times. The first car we bought it took over two weeks to get the title and when it did come we went to the dmv to transfer it and they told us upstate didnt give us the most up to date title. For the second car it took two weeks to get the paperwork/title and the reassignment document was missing.
