We would like to respond to Peter Mead. He is almost exactly right. He called and scheduled with us due to a P0850 code on his Nissan Xterra. He had done his research and was well aware that it could be a simple problem or could be a major internal transmission problem. He was quoted between 1/2 hour to 1.5 hours or diagnosis ($62.00 - $188.00) time to diagnose the cause of that code What we did for his hour of labor ($124.95). We used factory software to verify his code. We then verified voltage at the harness. We then verified battery voltage at pin 9 of the harness in park and neutral. We found between 7 and 8 volts at pin 9 in every other gear (there should have been no voltage present). With this test we verified that he indeed had a bad neutral / safety switch. We contacted Nissan to verify that this switch was only serviceable with replacement of the transmission valve body, which is an internal transmission part. We contacted Columbia Transmission to discuss our findings with them and potentially save Mr. Mead some money by referring him to a very reputable, local transmission shop instead of the dealer. So in conclusion, we told him on the phone exactly what we would do, did exactly what we said we would do, and provided him with the services he agreed to. I am not exactly sure how we could have done any better. Thanks for reading, Kris

Crooks, just like most of the other mechanics are. I read the the reviews and thought I could trust these folks. I am confident now that I was wrong and I will never recommend and I will never go back. I had my check engine light come on. I took my car to an auto parts store and used their obd2 tester and it spit out a code of p0850 park/neutral switch. So I did my research on Google and in the Nissan forums and found out it is more commonly known as a neutral safety switch and can be moderately serious to rebuilding your transmission serious. So I called these guys. I told them what the code was and what I was dealing with, they said to go ahead and bring it in and they'd get it looked at. Took it to them and they charged me $125 to tell me I was right and sent me to a transmission shop because they don't do that kind of work. You may or may not have had a good experience with these folks and I hope you do but from these eyes I told them what was wrong, they took my car in anyways and charged me dealership hourly diagnostic rates to tell me I was correct in the first place. Also in these eyes that's just downright wrong. Screw you Scholl's Ferry Automotive and every chance I get to talk or write bad about you I will do so with fervor. I seriously wish your karma on you and your family and everyone you know. reply to your reply. blah blah blah blah blah. 1st and most importantly you did not quote me anything for diagnosing the issue. As in, and hear this clearly Kris... I never received ANY information about your rates or how long it would take. Having said that here's mine; 2 days off work, 5 days rental car 3 uber rides PL;US $4,373.88 for the rebuild of the transmission I absolutely positively wholeheartedly undoubtedly did NOT need to pay you guys another $125 TO TELL ME THAT WHAT I TOLD YOU WAS RIGHT. Write all the words you want Kris, pat your saintly self on the back for your oh-so-righteous guidance to a reputable transmission shop (I am helpless and retarded and deaf and mute too they should probably give you a nobel prize or something for your profound givingness) but the fact remains. I told you what was wrong with it. If you don't do that work then just refer me. That $125 cost you a lot more than $125. Let me ask you something o-mighty brain magnificent.... How much did your information about the voltages on each side of whatever help me??? IT DIDN'T! NOT ONE BIT. SO NOT ONLY DID YOU CHARGE ME TO TELL YOU I WAS RIGHT YOU ALSO WASTED MY TIME AND MONEY TO CHARGE ME MORE BY GATHERING USELESS EXTRANEOUS INFORMATION!! Yes Kris, I told you what was wrong. I told you the possible range of the seriousness of the problem and the ONLY thing you needed to do for me was to get the information of whether or not that part was in the valve body. (which oh btw!!!! I already knew) So really Kris, to treat me fairly and to gain my loyalty and future business and great review(s) all you had to do to treat me fairly was to tell me YOU DON'T DO THAT AND I NEED TO GO TO A TRANSMISSION SPECIALIST!!!! So type all the pretty words you want and arrange all those pretty words in an order that continue to make you shine like freshly polished chrome for all the people to see but the truth is the truth. You charged me $125 for nothing. Like a crook. Oh and btw it doesn't seem like you have much experience dealing with internet complaints. So let me give you a little hint (I have about 2 months customer service experience in my life) You handled this incorrectly and in doing so only solidify that really being right is more important to you than being a decent human being.
The SFA guys are great. I switched to them after getting tired of the dealer and their runaround and upselling. They are reasonable about the timing of repairs, upfront about cost, what I can get by doing cheaply, what will impair safety. I've never felt talked down to because I'm a woman. They do a great job of keeping my crap car on the road!
these guys are crooks. They are willing to lie to protect there job. My advice is to take your car somewhere else.
