Though we remain confident with our diagnosis, we are not infallible. We did make contact with this customer through voice mail and have offered a full refund for the diagnosis. We have not heard back from the customer at this time. We take our work very seriously and always strive to do the best job possible. We would love the opportunity to discuss the other shops findings and to make this right. We are very competitive when it comes to our hourly labor rate, often far less than other shops, and we achieve this while using original equipment parts and never consider used parts. We are sorry this worked out the way it did. When we can't get a customer to respond, our hands are tied. I went in because my wiper control was not functioning properly. I was pleased with the customer service as I was approved for an appt quickly and able to get my car in fast. Chris gave me a detailed description of what my car needed. However, they were charging me over $1,000 for the piece my car supposedly needed. I called up another place and they were only charging me $300 for the piece. Additionally, once I took my car to another car shop they told me the piece Tigard SUV said I needed to fix my wiper control was NOT the solution after all Overall, great customer service but quite expensive and untrustworthy.
We are sorry that you had a less than satisfactory experience at Tigard SUV and Auto Repair. Anyone can make a mistake but we ran the block test (Checks for combustion gasses in the cooling system) twice with two different technicians as is our policy when it fails. We left a message inviting you to bring the vehicle in so we could run the test in person, but have not received a call back yet. We are puzzled as to how a thermostat could resolve a mechanical failure like this but suspect a lower opening temperature thermostat was installed to bandaid the situation. We stand behind our diagnosis and invite Parker to bring the vehicle in for the test.

Their diagnosis was a blown head gasket which would have costed several thousands of dollars. I took it to another reputable mechanic and the diagnostic revealed a stuck thermostat, and no blown head gasket. They checked all the valves which were operating with specifications, no mixing of fluids found, replaced the thermostat, and retested with no pressure failure and consistent engine temperature since. Fluids look good. I am very disappointed with their assessment and will not go back there.

I'm always thoroughly impressed with the service and communication from Tigard SUV. I knew my truck needed some work, and they were patient and polite while talking me through my options. I know they care about me and my safety and I will continue to bring my vehicles in for service here.
Quality repairs, professional service, thorough and knowledgeable mechanics, free loaner car, and when an issue came up with the billing it was handled to my satisfaction in a way that made me feel like my business mattered.
This gentleman was last in over two years ago, he must have a reason but I'm not sure why he's posting this now. In my opinion, Life's too short to hold grudges for that long. To quote John Lennon "Imagine all the people living life in peace. You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope someday you'll join us, and the world will be as one".
