Their website advertised 24 hours, then they told us we got it for 12. They also imposed a 150 mile limit when they told us that. Since Colorado has a gas shortage, if you cant fill it up before you return it you can just leave your credit card with them and pay 6$ a gallon there. I recommend somewhere else highly.
Lousy rental experience! Took 45 minutes just to check in once we got there. Vehicles yellow warning light on because they dont seem able to maintain the vehicles. Owner checked the mileage but not the gas gauge (I forgot to also until I was well on the trail). Gas cost was 44.29 for 11.8 gallons to go 85 miles. If I had returned with less they might have up charged me for that. No way the jeep gets 7.2 miles a gallon Asked then just to split the cost of the gas since something was clearly wrong. Response was that I returned the jeep with dust on the dashboard and seats so no deal. Ive rented from Farabees and many other places and never heard anything about the dust. Nor was I told the vehicle was excessively dirty. So a one star. Not user friendly.
In our case it took some extra effort to get lined up with a Jeep but it was worth it. If you don't get off of the pavement you will never understand why Colorado is so popular. The Jeep was in very good condition and I have some new respect for those things. Life as a rental Jeep is not easy but the one we used did not rattle at all. I can assure you that you will feel welcome at Elk Country.
We had a wonderful experience with Jeep Rentals. They were very accommodating and extremely friendly. The jeep was ready and waiting on us when we got there Quick & Easy return. I would recommend their jeep rentals by far. I will definitely be a return customer
Rented a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited for a day with my brother, brother-in-law, and adventurous mom; among the best money I spent on my vacation. Took it on some forest roads up to the old Summitville mine and did some exploring, then came down the challenging Elwood Pass. Jeep was clean and everything worked better than we would expect out of a 1-ish year old Wrangler that spends its life on the trail. Owners were helpful in selecting a route and listing things to do on our drive, they even gave us one of their maps (which I forgot to return to them....sorry!). Great experience, I would absolutely do it again! DEFINITELY download the area with google maps so you can use the map offline, the GPS will still pinpoint you without cell service. If you decide to change your route or wander off your paper maps, it's really helpful!
