Spent many thousands at their shop for engine machining. they seem like they got a bunch of pot heads in the back or something cause my rod caps ended up being flipped backwards, they lost the dowel for my flywheel. and i was never provided with any spec sheets on anything and when asked they couldnt even tell me how much they had machined off my flywheel (though i shouldnt have to ask i should have gotten a spec sheet like normal machine shops give) but i will say the motors held up well so far

Ordered a Chevy crate motor there and gave them the number of the carb I needed and they couldnt even give me the right carb for the crate motor. Then when I said that's not the right carb I asked for. The owner said well we already ran it on your motor so its yours now. Never go there again.

Myself, family, and some co-workers have been customers of Dons for years (and MANY thousands of $$$). Recently took an old truck to Dons for a SIGNIFICANT noise coming from the drivetrain area. Demonstrated the noise to several employees who quickly (less than a minute) isolated the issue to a loose lockout (for 4X4 mode) on the front left hub. Four hours and almost $600 later they told me they fixed the problem. I picked the truck up and discovered upon leaving the parking lot that the noise was no different than what I had previously demonstrated to them. Turns out they didnt even test drive the truck to determine whether the noise had abated. When I asked for some help on the charge, I was told that what they repaired WAS actually broken. True but I also pointed out that I could go broke having them fix things that dont need fixing (I dont run the vehicle in 4X4). I offered to pick up the cost of the part if they picked the labor up. After much whining I gave up. They got my money, lost several customers in the process, and now $600 lighter, Im going to take my truck to have it fixedhopefully by someone who wont take my money and leave me with the problem.
