So disappointed with this company. I was referred by a realtor I'd previously worked with, and the person at West End who took over my rental listing was extremely unresponsive, even when I was trying to get him to reduce the price on my unit to get it to rent faster. I tried for 2 weeks to get a response and it was radio silent. When I contacted him to end my listing agreement, I heard within 5 hours. I asked another question about when the listing would be removed online and heard back within 45 minutes of that email. Seems like he couldn't wait to get rid of this opportunity. I'm so glad he won't get the commission from the rental, but also so disappointed to have wasted so much time with him when he clearly didn't do any work to try to rent it.

Spoke with a Mark Duve about my mother's application, he was very unprofessional and made me feel as if they didn't want to rent to a person of color. First he questioned where she currently lives which is a loft downtown, he acted as is he never heard of it when he had the contact information for the leasing office. Next he questioned her employer because he had never heard of it when Google is right at your fingertips. Lastly he questioned her income because he felt it was a lot, I have never in my life heard of anything like this from a management company. I told him to remove her application because I felt he was racist and unprofessional. I would give no stars if I could, there is no way to contact a manager when you call their office and no receptionist. 8-16-17 Day 2 of this situation: To have someone come and do a review who is paid to do a job as a painter and say the person is not racist is a slap in the face. You are a person of color providing a service for money so please do not speak on a company in their defense when you are not on the same side of the spectrum. Since you don't work for the company and can't be notified when a review is posted, I am sure the agent contacted you and asked you to do one to make him look better. What I didn't get a chance to say was I received a call back from Mark with an apology that didn't feel genuine. In the same conversation he stated he would like to see where she currently lives which I have never had an agent do and that was more offensive. The owner did reach out to me and he was very nice but my feelings about Mark will not change. I hate giving bad reviews because one bad apple does not reflect on the company as a whole. We have decided not to move forward because we do not want to work with Mark Duve. If Seth the owner had another agent that was handling the property I would proceed after speaking with him because I felt he was sincere. When asked was he racist and did they not want to rent to a person of color, maybe Mark should not have laughed. I don't know him personally but first impressions are everything and he didn't make a good second one.

I just read a review about Mark Duve in reference to him being a racist., I am of color and have been treated with the upmost respect. I met Mark from responding to a request for paint services. Mark has always paid me and he has made sure I was taken care of properly. My sons just applied for a nice place from West End and Mark encouraged them to apply. I recommend everyone to utilize his service he has been great to work with.

*updated* Any concerns I have are always taken care of in a quick and professional manner, from checking out minor leaks to removing a large dying tree. One of the best renting situations I've ever had. Going on 3 years at the property. **update: they renewed my lease then two months later said they were selling it if I wanted to buy it and I told them to give me two more months to decide and they sold it to someone else with no paperwork or communication (The property manager didn't even know what was going on because he still thought he would be the property manager and the new owner immediately said otherwise) to the tenants and slacked off on any requests and repairs once they made the decision to sell. SO: they are all hands on deck til they're ready to sell then you're trash to them.
