Your appointment was scheduled for 9:00am, and you were asked to arrive at 8:50am to begin filling out your new patient paperwork. You did not call our office to let us know you would be late until 9:03am, at which point you were already late. During that phone call, you did not mention an accident or traffic jam, let alone the distance in which you were traveling. You also did not mention from where you would be traveling when we scheduled your appointment yesterday, and you did not request directions. As for dilation, 90% of the time a person your age does NOT get dilated by Dr. Nash because the pupils of young people are almost always large enough for him to visualize all ocular anatomy; older people naturally have smaller pupils and require mydriatics to evaluate their ocular health. Lastly, we are unsure as to where you got your information about how far out we are booked, but it's certainly not months. Yesterday, you requested our soonest appointment, which was today at 9:00am. Our office is extremely flexible with patients who communicate with us. Had you contacted us prior to your appointment time to let us know you were delayed due to traffic, or that you were traveling a far distance to have your eye examination, we would have been happy to accommodate you. Unfortunately, you did not.

I drove an hour and a half all the way there for an appointment and just because I was running nine minutes late due to a traffic jam that was a result of an accident they told me that I would have to reschedule that it was too late. I called before I was late at that. I've never had a place do this to me. They also don't ask you if you need help finding the place or warn you that your eyes will be dialated. It was a sunny day so that would have been a nightmare if I didn't know they were going to do that. Luckily I've had an optometrist do that to me already without warning me and I had never had my eye examined until that day so I know all about driving in sun with dialated pupils and no sunglasses. If this place is so busy you have to schedule months in advance and they can't be flexible if your late due to a situation you could not help and do not have a record of lateness with them then they don't need your business. Go elsewhere.
