I have recently migrated to BTC practice management, accounts production and CT solution and I must say it is one of the best on the market. I did a lot of research before choosing a solution provided and based on cost, usability and practicality BTC stood above its competitors. The more I use it, the more I like it. The transfer of all my client details from my previous software and the accounts acquistion from VT Software to populate the tax return have been a breeze. Data entry is very straightforward and because it is outside of a tax return has provided the opportunity to train additional staff to deal with all the straightforward PAYE cases. The on-line filing is also very straightforward and the BTC package has obviously benefited from a fresh pair of eyes looking at the self-assessment task. When our previous practice management, tax return and accounts production software became prohibitively expensive, I canvassed views from other practitioners and the overwhelming recommendation was BTC for everything except accounts production, which they didn't have at the time. Although I wasn't keen on a non-integrated solution the cost savings were huge so I bit the bullet. What I found was that not only is BTC simpler to use and just as comprehensive as our previous system in the areas it covered, it also integrates quite seamlessly into the AP package we took on at the same time. For probably 20% of the price, it does a better job! I still don't like the AP package we chose but it works, just a bit clunky. When I get time I must try the BTC equivalent which has now been launched. I also need to comment on the BTC customer service and technical support. Our IT providers 'upgraded' our server and messed up access to the BTC history files. Going far beyond the call of duty, BTC worked with them to fix everything that had been messed up, so that within a couple of days everything was working smoothly again. The only reason I rate BTC 5 stars is because there isn't a 6 to choose.

In my second year of using the practice manager and CT express software. Only being a small practice this software has driven a change in emphasis of the practice, which is more professional and more organised in relation to the communication and active interaction with clients, HMRC and Companies House. For any sole practitioner I would recommend a trial of this software. It will transform the way you work and help save massive amounts of "non-chargeable" administration time. The status of every client, every return, every submission is at your fingertips. The software is updated on a regular basis, so that there is never any concern about being out of date. First rate products. Highly recommended.
