Good location, high rent, poor management, non-functioning facilities. Do NOT rent here. Update 1: a guy showed up in my apartment a few days ago asking about my bathroom faucet problem I reported to the management 1-2 months ago. Update 2: the AC broke down this summer and my apartment had no AC at all during the hottest days this summer for over 2 weeks. They said they installed new cooling units, and that the AC is fully functioning. But my AC has not been working well since it broke down before 07/04; it blows out cool air that makes my apartment stays at high 70s.
Terrible communication to tenants. Building is breaking down its not just the elevators. Example: Doing the coldest days in Chicago Polar vortex the building had NO HEAT. The company would not even reimburse the tenants for hotel stay or pro rate the rent. Very low value for the high rent you pay.

My daughter lived at the Fisher Building for several years while attending art school in Chicago (School of the Art Institute). This review concerns my experience with two staff members in particular - Tistan (Maintenance) and Lisa (Concierge). I've known Lisa for several years and she has always been a great help with information and providing useful tips. I'll miss her smiling face as my daughter had to move out recently. During the move-out procedure, Tristan was of great help. He provided useful information and aided us immensely. He is a great guy and an asset to the Fisher Building for sure. I'm giving a rating of 4 stars, but Tristan and Lisa deserve 5 stars if I was just rating them.

Lisa M (Head Concierge), Tristan B (Chief Custodian), and Devencie E (Property Manager) are a 5 star team. Lisa has been with the building for 20 years and runs the place like her own home. She is one of the main reasons that I live at Fisher. Tristan is always cordial and pleasant on your way out in the mornings. He gets the behind the scene stuff done that residents take for granted. And Devencie is the current Property Manager (a bit of a revolving door here) who is just trying to make it better. He has new ideas and genuinely cares about the resident experience. Any place will have ups and downs... these folks make it better.

Elevators never work. Online payment barely works and when I asked the staff for help, they sent me the customer service number and said good day figure it out. My apartment is so hot its January 29th and I haven't had to turn my heat on ONCE this winter. I have to submit a service request about once a week for something in my apartment. In the beginning discussions, I was guaranteed that my excess utilities wouldn't surpass $125 a month; I pay about $225 in utilities every month and my heat literally isn't used. They do a great job selling the place to you on your tour. Would never suggest anyone to live here. August can't come soon enough for me!
