Really sorry that you had that experience Alex, that perception of "soapiness" from hops is extremely rare . And while the use of purees and preparations is pretty much the standard in Seltzer's it is very rare to see that old world "Berliner" style pump being used here in the States. It's something we're working on for a different project. I agree with you, personally, about that strongly flavored seltzer, but the same day you stopped by we had three or four customers who said it was great. Taste is SO subjective! Hope you swing by again, we've got a Hazy IPA releasing soon, as well as some special projects for this summer. Thanks for the feedback!

Great atmosphere, not so great beer. I had the Irish Red on tap and found that it had a soapy aftertaste. My friend tried the seltzers and said one was sickeningly sweet and the other was artificially flavoured with sweetener from a bottle.
Maybe we hit it on a bad day. Hmmmm. In business you get one first impression. It's called the free market. I'm starting to accept mediocre service and unfriendliness as an absolute standard for 5 stars in the IE. It's as if you are supposed to praise mediocrity and do the Pollyanna thing. Lilliputian small companies acting like their are hallmark giants... Potempkin Villages. Service and friendliness is everything. Wineries and Pacific NW and No. CA breweries get it. My experience showed nothing special here. I frequent BBC in LB, Taps in Brea, Anaheim Brewing, where I get great, friendly informative service.
