Been to this store twice. While I love their candles, the staff's level of knowledge could use some improvement. I was helped by the same person, and no offense to you personally, you were very nice, but you couldn't do anything at all. Didn't know Diptyque's products, didn't know if something was in stock, didn't know where to check, didn't know how to check, rung up the items wrong. I got two sets of candles and asked for two separate bags so I could give them as gifts. When I'm trying to bag them at home now they don't fit at all the bags were too small! Please, your company needs to train better. I'm going to buy online from now on. Another update today: got the membership newsletter I subscribed to in the store. She entered my name as CHRISTAN. What kind of a name is that!? I even spelled it out for you. How do I change it?
Hint: racism is bad for business. If your 3 sales staff are blatantly ignoring the one person of color, but willingly cater to the one other white person in the room it forever leaves a bad taste. Your scents are wonderful, and this one time I swallowed my anger and politely asked for help, and even when barely getting a response from any of the VERY available saleswomen, I still made the purchase. But never again.
Diptyque is such a gem and I thank my lucky stars they have a boutique in SF. The store is absolutely beautiful and almost feels like a well-curated gallery. They always have the item I want in stock, as well as many new ones to test and fall in love with. The staff is super knowledgeable and give great recommendations. I am absolutely addicted to the Rose Shower Gel thanks to Collette (I hope I spelled her name correctly!). She is super sweet and always remembers me when I come in. I know everyone comes here for the candles, but if you have a chance, definitely try their skincare items in the corner. Diptyque makes beautiful skincare products that are so luxurious. My favorite are the cleansing balm, the clay mask, and the hand cream, though I have almost the whole line and every item is worth every penny. As for the reviewer claiming the staff is racist - I personally have never experienced that and I am a woman of color too. I have come in sweats and shoes from the dollar store with no makeup and got the same exceptional service as when I come in all done up and wearing head to toe designer items. I hope that reviewer just had a one-off experience and misinterpreted it. Im very sensitive to discrimination in luxury shops (as it sadly does happen too often), and would not continue to shop at Diptyque if I ever thought theyd treat me differently based on my skin tone.
The products are exceptional! The store manager and sales representative are really friendly and knowledgeable about their products. It's quite a pleasant shopping experience.
Not the best service. Will make you wait a 10+ minutes before even acknowledging you. Good service once you have their attention. Smaller location with out of stock issues. No sales or price matching. Can buy the same item at Nordstrom for less.
