Philip, thankfully there is no truth to this review but we do hate that you feel like this was your experience. The beer walk had many social distancing logistics in place (more than any other event we've seen as we take the responsibility very seriously.) We understood you weren't comfortable and agreed promptly to provide a refund following the event. Although we provided the refund your wifes inbox was full and rejected all three attempts to notify her that she should see it reflected in her in account soon. We emailed three times because her many false claims that we did not reply to her email were posted on all over social media. I (Lauren) told you both at the time you requested the refund that I was happy to do it but as tickets were pre-sold I did not have access to refund you at the event. That is why we promptly assisted Monday following the event. All merchants followed their occupancy guidelines. We had a unique beer at each location- no repeat beers. The event was also advertised correctly in terms of saying the beer stations were set up inside local shops and boutiques. (you can still view the event on social media and eventbrite.) And I was wearing a mask even though I was outside. Participants had a great time- we're sorry you didn't.

SBG hospitality hit all the marks for a poorly planned, irresponsible, and unsafe Octoberfest event in McKinney downtown. We were only able to go to four or five stops before we we're run off by overwhelming crowds in a supposedly limited ticket event. Unsafe/poorly planned- There was no planning or markings on the ground or even people working the event at all outside of a tent to take your money. The event had us going on a scavenger hunt into packed little boutiques with lines out the door that normally hold 10-15 people, instead of having booth outside as advertised. Poor value - They had the same Rahr beer being served in most of the booths that we saw. In addition to offering such little variety in beer they also gave you a plastic souvenir taster cup which is a first in my many beer festivals/events I've attended. Non-responsive was covered by Lauren the leader of the group who couldn't quite understand why we were concerned for ours and others safety. She couldn't provide any help in person and insisting we email her and she will respond after the event. She acted like she didn't know anything and come to find out she runs this racket. That was both surprising and concerning. I wouldn't want to take responsibility for such a debalcle either but I didn't make it a career. Lauren wasn't properly wearing a mask even while talking us even though we were discussing our concerns about about Covid19 safety during the event. She soon realized that maybe she should wear it in front of concerned customers and even went as far as removing to greet her friend checking in and stated "Covid concerns" to indicate why she was wearing a mask. I will never endorse, affiliate, or participate in any event this joke of a hospitality group holds again. If you do, be safe out there because SBG sure isn't looking out for you and yours.
I had the pleasure of working with Lauren and her team to host two top notch Wine and Food Festivals at a property I worked at. The center was looking to host some fun engaging wine events, but we needed some help organizing the event and coordinating with the TABC and wineries. SBG did just that and more. They created a fun experience for our guests and were true partners with my team and I. The events they produced exceeded my expectations. I highly suggest you consider working with this team should you want to host an event and need additional resources.
SBG Hospitality has planned and executed two successful events for my company. Everything went very smoothly from planning to execution and clean up. Communication with our clients and internal team was always exceptional which is critical with over 100 of them to coordinate and keep informed. Both times, they did a great job with clean up. Lauren was always my main point of contact and very responsive. I would recommend to any organization looking to add experiential marketing events to venue programming. We plan to continue working with SBG Hospitality.
I am a business owner in Downtown McKinney and have been involved with numerous Sip and Shops organized by SBG hospitality. I am amazed at how organized and successful they have been. The reason I am most impressed with Lauren and her team is the importance they place on safety,. It starts with checkin process and continues durning the entire event, with the wearing of Masks and social distancing their number one priority. Thank you to Lauren and your Team!! I've attended a number of SBG Hospitality events and they are always well done and so much fun. Since COVID I attended the Plano Food and Wine Walk. I felt very safe at the event. All of the attendees and the wine pourers wore masks. The pourers also wore gloves and the tasting tables were spread out. I received a souvenir cup but each wine is poured into a disposable cup. The event was also lots of fun and the there was a variety of wines (30 different wines!) to satisfy every taste bud. Although, we received a map that served as a great guide when we checked in, the staff was friendly and helpful with telling us where the next tasting table was. These events make for a great date or girls day out.
