Hosted a Carfest worker and submitted invoice well in advance of the event, have had to chase multiple times for payment and 6.5 weeks later have just been told it should be paid in two weeks time but no date given. Do not recommend hosting if you are expecting prompt payment.
Appalling customer service. Cost 1548 for 3 x 2 meter stand (food marquee) 3 day event. Trading at Carfest North was an absolute nightmare! On arrival, no one knew where the "Food marquees" were even located, not one person even had a map of the show - they didn't even know the show opening hours When I finally located my stand, there was a very obvious "trip hazard" right in front of it (Yes, I tripped over it - that is how I found it). Bearing in mind that NO-ONE is allowed on the site of this show to set up without completing an online "Site Induction" which certainly gives the impression that health and safety is paramount, and despite me following the correct procedure and reporting it immediately, no one even came to look at the issue. I again went to the organisers on the morning of the show regarding it and I was told by the young man he had reported it, but no one came and as a result, I spent three days watching people trip over. Day two started with the "Best of British" food tent being shut down as the portaloos which were uphill from the food tent (rookie mistake right there with the heavy rain that was forecast, seriously..) the whole tent was contaminated and all the food had to be thrown away. All they were offered was a PARTIAL refund! All that work from small producers My 3 x 2 meter stand was actually a 2 x 2 and for what they charge (per meter) I'm sorry, but I feel that I am entitled to partial refund! Instead, I was told I could push my stand out a meter - which was of absolutely no advantage to me - and was not what I bought at the time of purchase! Exiting the show was a nightmare, more due to the lack of communication than the heavy rain. At 6pm I just went and got my van, loaded up and left. I have since heard other traders were not told until late in the evening that they would have to come back tomorrow and pack up - leaving them to have to find another nights accommodation! I think what Chris Evans created with the Carfest events is an amazing achievement, and there is no doubt the visitors love supporting the cause. But as for Brand Events Post show, they didn't even return my call...
Cadac UK have now been chasing a credit for 6,804 since May 2020. We have e-mails confirming when payment will be paid, to no avail. It is now Feb-21 and still they drag their heels. We now have no option but to pass the debt onto a solicitor. An expensive show, for a great Charity, sadly the organisers lack the required integrity to run a succesful business.
